Posting Mini-Comics

So I have a few short comics that I've been considering posting on Tapastic. They're all under 15 pages, so I don't really feel like they each need to be their own "series" especially since they're all one-shots. Would it be weird to make a series for my mini comics and then post each as it's own separate episode?

The comics don't have the same characters or topics, but are similar in tone.

I feel like what I described is the way to go about posting them, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with posting short comics to the site and could offer advice. Thanks : )

You probably would be better off with an opinion from someone who has actually done something similar, which I haven't. But I don't see why your way wouldn't work. If you upload an episode and name it whatever your one-shot is, and do that for each one, that should be fine.

I have seen a couple of comics that have multiple one-shots as there own "series" so if you still do that if you wanted to. You could still personalize the one-shots with their own banners or whatever if you wanted to go that far even though you said you have less than 15 pgs per comic. I guess go with whatever method best suits you, just food for thought.

I have a friend who is doing something similar to this! She's got a lot of minicomics/oneshots lying around, so she is posting them all in a kind of anthology-series. One series for all the different comics - and like yours, they share similarities. I think most of hers take place within the same - or similar - universe.

As long as you're clear about what you're doing - that the episodes won't be directly related to one another - I think you're good.

I think it'd be fine and it sounds like stuff I want to read! Give the 'anthology' a clever name and, as long as you state the goals upfront, i think it'd be a smashing success!

That works fine, I think. I did one just like that, with short comics (12 pages the longest, 1 page the shortest), and each one is an episode in the collection. You may check it if you want to and see how it feels like when the comic is formated like that, and if it works for what you want to do.

I think that would be the best way to do it. A lot of artists publish one shot type stories together in a collection, so this would just be the digital version of that.

Shouldn't be a problem! You don't even have to put the short stories in one single post, you could write [title] ep [n of n] and it it's clear in the description on your page, it's no problem! Sometimes gag-a-day comics have story lines, and that seems to work just fine. Example: http://tapastic.com/series/Radio-Gaga

There shouldn't be a problem. Short stories are really fun and if you want to share them, share them. I'd gladly subscribe since I like your comic Creep, but I'd have to read some of it first just to be sure.

I have a bunch of minicomics that I did as a series of posters a while back that I'm adapting to mobile viewing and uploading to their own series called random comics. it's more like a place where I can put anything not related to my regular, ongoing series, Arc29. I personally like seeing what creators do as side projects to their main creative output. So, all that said, I think it's a great idea!

I put all my oneshots and single strips in one series. I think it's more effective that way.

Were you talking about this panel? Because that is supposed to be two blocks of text reading "I had my own world. Filled with things that were just the right size for me."

Yes, that's the panel. The first block reads fine, but I started reading the second thinking it was two more, so I read "filled things just size", lol.

Ooooh, hmmm. I'm sorry that was confusing. I'll try to avoid type rivers like that in the future!

It's ok, this was the only panel I found confusing, if briefly, because of the type river, but it wasn't as distracting as to make the comic any less enjoyable. As for the word spacing in the rest of the comic, maybe I'm just too fastidious with such details. =)
