One of the things I've learned through social media is that every potential follower/subscriber subconsciously asks themselves But what is it for me? before liking, subscribing, etc.

How would you answer this question in the context of your comic/novel/work?
Promote your work here, advertise the value a potential fan will get, sell it.

If you don't know how to start, here are some sample questions:
- What is unique about your story/comic/novel/art, etc.?
- Why should I follow you (do you update often, do you chase a personal goal, special characters/story, etc.)
- How do you usually promote your posts, does that method work? How would you change the strategy?
etc.

Also, check others work as well, give constructive feedback on promoted material and the actual promotion.

Let's help each other improve and get some eyeballs on our work.

I will start.

What is it for you? you ask.
Well, are you bored? Do you want to waste some time reading some funny relatable stories with pictures? And you like the colour purple?
Say no more. You need to see The Purple Stuff8.
Bonus points if you like cute french bulldogs and weird humour.

How is it different? It is based on stories and situations that I have witnessed, that I have been part of or that intrigued me. The uniqueness comes from my interpretation and my perspective in these cases.
The comic is still in the beginning stage, but gets updated on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

I never promoted my work properly, so I guess this is an improvement from doing nothing. (apart from sharing on instagram)

I am open to feedback and criticism, and suggestions.

And I am excited to see other peoples work and promotions.

This is an interesting idea. I'm not the greatest at self promotion, but I'll give it a try.

Kyklos Revolvis3 is a fantasy comic about a race to be the first to collect magic artifacts while the kingdom of Toskenza sits on the brink of civil war. Whoever holds these artifacts could gain a huge advantage when the war actually starts. All the while, a great evil rests beneath the surface waiting to be released.

This comic features nonhuman characters with weird heads, and a unique 3d rendered artsyle that aims for abstract shapes in the textures rather than photorealism.

Please consider reading.

This seems like fun and a great way to distract myself from finals!

Do you enjoy cool fight scenes? Found family? Casual banter while kicking ass!?? Get ready to hop between dimensions as you slip into the sci-fi/fantasy action world of Seven Stars Silver Clouds!

It's got a classic print manga style while also giving that american animation charm, so if you're looking for a mix between cartoony but not too anime-ish, the art style might tickle your fancy.

As a burned out college student, I can't update often BUT that might be a good thing especially if you're the type who's looking at SO MANY THINGS ALL AT ONCE!!! so like yeah im helping you pace your content consumption lol

I'm always open to critique and feedback!!! But like no pressure to do that

SYNOPSIS
"The world of Elemental has risen to become a superpower amongst the universe and across all dimensions and worlds. One of its many duties include maintaining the balance of good and evil between individuals, groups and worlds. This work falls upon the Demon Hunter Corps, the honorable warriors of Elemental."

Freshly graduated and ready to take on anything, a rag-tag group of newbies are haphazardly flung into one of the DHC's Special Operations unit. Galavant around the dimensions as Team 3 forges their own path to greatness. Can they handle the pressure of being prodigies? Or will something sinister push them to their limits?

Also here's stuff

- What is unique about your story/comic/novel/art, etc.?

I think it's unique in the sense that it uses common tropes but flips them on its head.
For example, the beginning on my story reminds people of My Hero Academia because there is a school of super-powered students, but it quickly becomes something waaay more weird and unpredictable. I feel like it's impossible to guess where i'm going with my story, and it's something i'm proud of xD

- Why should I follow you (do you update often, do you chase a personal goal, special characters/story, etc.)

Because even if i don't update as often as some, i make my drawings as professional as i can, so that it is appealing and you feel a sense of movement in the drawings. Also, i'm just having fun with it, and people can tell i'm having a blast doing it when they are reading, and even if it feels improvised, it's actually not: I have all the story planned out ( 100+ chapters)

- How do you usually promote your posts, does that method work? How would you change the strategy?
etc.

I don't really have a strategy lol, i suck at these kinda thing, i just wanna draw!!! Help!

Ummm quite the strange yet so interesting way to promote...let's try it:
1) Well, the first concmept is the fact that usually, in a Sun WuKong comic book, what you're expecting to see is, of course, Monkey King. I wnated to put it to another level, using a possible heir. Not to emntion that one of the thing that i was allways interested was the concept of "europe and asia meeting". I'm not very good in explaining ^^'
2)Everybody would say that they wish to be publish, to be knew for their work. I'll lie if i say that i don't have this desire too, but for now my only goal is to be able to reach a few more subscriber, to be able to have a few fan that knew about me or staff in general (yes, it's a stupid desire, don't judge me)
3)I put it in all the social media i own, basically because is the most effecent way. I can't say it's working, now right now by promoting here on the forum ahs been successfully enough, but who know???

Are you tired of the overpowered mc who shits on everyone within the first few chapters? Or the "underdog" protagonist who suddenly pulls a god-like ability or overpowered devil fruit out of their ass? If the answer to both of these is yes, then you will enjoy UnHoly Blessings1. It's heavily influenced by the manga I grew up on, so if you enjoy stories like Naruto, Black Clover, and Berzerk, you will definitely enjoy this story.

In a continent divided into 5 nations there is only one thing holding the fragile peace together; the allocation of the holy blessings, a power bestowed by the gods themselves.

Our story follows Touma, a young boy who loses everything at the whims of the blessed. Vowing vengeance, he sets out to take his revenge – one false god at a time. Starting with the man who wronged him personally and ending with the one who started it all, the one who not only created but allowed this corrupt system to thrive; the Shogun, blessed by Amaterasu ‘the fallen star’ and the one whose power is classified as ‘Worldbreaker’. Will Touma be able to obtain his revenge? Or perhaps the better question is, what will he have left if he does?

Thanks for the thread!
Okay so,
My comic A Bunch of Love Stories1 is a romance comic where everyone got their love story. If you become curious about one of the side characters, don't worry! They'll get their share to be the main character! I think this is what makes my comic unique.
I love to engage with my readers, especially if they provide feedback on the story or ask questions. So, never feel left out in my comment section~

Please check it out if you're interested!
If you want to read my current story (I have 3 so far), click HERE!

Okay! I'll try promoting here!

Have you already read every reincarnation fantasy novel on Tapas? Get ready for The Prince of Chains! It's a fresh novel with 11 episodes currently and covers the story of Kahil, the former prince of a kingdom who adventures after his reincarnation centuries after his death as a prince.

I update EACH DAY at 6:00 AM PST and hope to get 25 subscribers before 2023.

I usually promote my posts on this website, forums.tapas.io, and it has seen minor success. I don't really use social media, other than the one time I posted on twitter, but that failed.

I must be the least apt person on earth doing self-promotion for my comic, but I'll give it a try

Dawnbreaker is a steampunk style fantasy drama that's set in the far future, when civilisation was coerced to retreat to Floating Cities (Trees) to shun away the lethally high radioactivity level on the now barren earth, a.k.a. the Ruins. It's a story that questions the ugly sides of humanity, and how people, even in darkest darkness, can still practice virtue. Even after the apocalypse, people seemed to bring on the belligerence and selfishness to the new world, an act that led to the initial destruction. But there were also some that clang on the hope that this new world wasn't beyond salvation. My story focuses on depicting the struggle of each character in this crooked world. Also, if you're into fancy steampunk costumes I think you're gonna be impressed by the designs because I often fuse Victorian style with futuristic elements.

I update every two weeks. After every 10 EP I would take a two-week break. The first season will probably last for 2 years. I also have the goal of making the story into printed form. But that's a bit of a long shot for now, considering I'm still struggling with gaining exposure and financial issues. I'll do my best to make it come true! If you're interested, here's a link to the story:

Hi, everyone! So I'm definitely not good at promoting myself, but I am good at projecting my anxiety! So here I go! If three magical friends trying to meander through life with each other sounds good to you, combined with them being secretly hunted by the magical government, and just a teaspoon of personal anxiety mixed in, then this novel might be for you! If you do read it, I hope you enjoy it

Here's my comic.

Summary: The life and adventure of a boy and his pet guinea pig.

My answer to the questions:
- What's unique about my work is that it's a boy and his pet story with guinea pig. It features a boy and his pet dynamic and a boy and a girl dynamic which involves kids and pets bonding.
- I update every Wednesday when I'm posting pages for each episode/issue. My goal is to build a fanbase or community for my work and future works. It'a a cute comic that throws back to 90s/early 2000s cartoons/anime like Doug and Hamtaro with my style applied to the formula.
- I promote on the Tapas forum and my Instagram. Tapas forum seems to be the most effective.

Tapas

New episodes every month! (Check it out)
P.S - I hope this is fancy enough lol.

I'm too lazy to make it fancy, but I am also desperate to get more subscribers so I guess the latter wins out for now.
Ghost-Man is a story about a kid who gets his powers from being haunted by two ghosts. I will update it three days a week without any determined schedule. Also, there is a lot of violence and blood so if you are into that, then give my story a read.

Sci fi / Fantasy / Drama (with action!)
The story set in the future--the main character is a hybrid of one of the most prominant alien species of giants mixed with something unknown, something he's only been given a hint in his dreams and visions.
After a tragedy, he was let go from his job as a prominent Guardian--a law enforcer guided to the task of patrolling the free universe. Without his honor and without a steady rate of pay, he tries to find something to push him forward. He finds that purpose in an unlikely place, and it puts him on the path to find his purpose and himself.

Perks: fantastical elements and superpowers, full of action and drama! It's a wholesome story that leaves feel-good moments with kick ass missions to boot!

Almost every episode has an illustration!

Idk how to make it fancy 🤣
The Vampire Skull - Echoes of the Void is a story with vampires, magic, demons, a talking skull, mystery, great friendship and a dash of romance. It’s tragic at the core, but will also make you laugh sometimes (hopefully). It’s set in on an alternate earth, much like this one, except the geography is different, and it suffered an apocalyptic event 500 years ahead of present day events in the story.
I will probably update twice a week from now, as the story is moving into the second arc soon. :sparkles:
I am very likely to subscribe back to other creators

Hi everyone! I'm willing to make my shameless self promoting fancy!

To start, I'll be answering the question: "What's in it for me?"
If you're looking for an anime light novel action romance with a dark twist then you're going to love my Web novel House Of Blades

What is unique about your story?
My novel House Of Blades is a dark GL fantasy romance in a sea of fluffy BL

Why should I follow you?
I'm a pretty fast writer so I update often. Since I'm new to writing here on Tapas, I would really like some critiques and tips. I'm very aware that my writing skill is amateur so I'm 100% open to any critiques people are willing to give me. I'm determined to grow as a writer, so I'll always be responsive.

How do you usually promote your posts, does that method work? How would you change the strategy?
Since I'm new, I don't really promote my work. :frowning:
