Heya, good evening! So, I really love creating and looking at art that has a lot of narrative depth. (CelestialFang, wlop, emperpep, redjuice, etc are all masters at this) I also enjoy art that doesn't explicitly tell you what's going on and leaves interpretation up to the viewer.

I want to see your art with a narrative, riddle, or metaphor! :heartbeat:

Some of mine (for my series - yes, you can link yours if the art is related):

Here is a metaphorical riddle, based on an old riddle I've heard. It is entirely fictional, not based on anybody. I'll leave the answer after the art:

There is a web-artist creator, who is both a writer and artist, who is tired of not getting noticed. One day he yells out “I want the publishing industry to notice me and make me FAMOUS!”

The devil appears and tells him, “Sell me your soul and I’ll make you famous!”

The creator agreed and the devil made his wish come true. However the creator soon got sick of his newfound fame with the crazy fan stalkers, the envious fellow creators, and the sisyphean pressure to churn out new works after works. He screams out for the devil to give his old life back. The devil appears again and tells him, “If you can tell me the one thing I cannot do, I’ll return your soul and your old life back to you, but heed my warning: I can be anywhere, do anything, and be anything I want!”

The creator simply whispers his answer into the devil’s ear. Unhappily, the devil sighs, snap his fingers, and soon the creator has his soul and old life back.

What did the creator say that the devil cannot do?

Answer: Nothing

I'm only on webtoons now, but will be coming to Tapas soon.

It looks a bit outdated and ugly (a year old), but I am still fond of its concept and wanting to remake it. It is basically telling who and what the main character is, so elaborating it is a spoiler. However, I think anyone can easily figure some things out.

This piece I made years ago as promo art for my comic is actually full of ~symbolism~

I'll try to elaborate on it as much as I can without major spoilers, lol... (also the official title of this piece is "The self")

So here we have our MC, Eve. Part of her body and especially face is in shadow, which symbolizes the unknown part of herself (I guess that's pretty obvious) that she has to face. She is holding a watch, which symbolizes her link to the real world, outside from the dimension her soul is trapped in (that'll be more clearly explained in the story). Aaaand then we have her arms wrapped in black swirly stuff and flowers, which are a metaphor for two distinct things/forces that are influencing her.

I used to loooove thinking up pieces with tons of symbolism and stuff, feels like I'm not making them too much anymore though :pensive:
