So I have always been scared of some cats but lately, I've been feeling the need to get a cat. This is because I will be moving into an apartment and even though I'm used to dogs I just feel like getting a dog will be a hand full so I want to get a cat because I feel it will be low maintenance?
There is this artist I follow on Instagram and her cat is so adorable and I want to know what species it is so i can go for it. it's too cute lol

The coloring is a brown or grey tabby. It looks kind of like a scottish fold, but it's ears aren't folded.

It's probably a mutt --so I'd say at least part British shorthair?

Congrats on overcoming your fear of cats though, I was deathly afraid of dogs until I was 21 so I get the pet phobia thing for real

that's exactly what i was thinking. i looked up Scottish fold and yea very similar

I wouldn't call a cat low maintenance... make sure you look up enough info about them before you get one.

I have 2 British Shorthairs so I can assure you their cheeks are just as squishy and adorable. I don't think it's one of them judging from the pictures though, but can't say for certain. Just keep in mind pedigree cats like this are very expensive, at least where I am. Here is mine for reference if you do settle on a Brit! They are amazing cats and I love how sturdy they are.

They might be a mix! I agree that pedigree breeds can be expensive, you can always visit some local shelters and look for a similar cat, or even fall in love with a different one :3

That's a Certified Chonk right there, that's for certain!

I second this, as someone who's had shelter kitties her whole life. Shelter cats have just so much love to give and there are so, so many of them without homes. Purebreds will almost always have a home in front of them.

One thing about shelter cats though, is to have some money aside for vet bills, sometimes they come out of the shelter with complications. Mine didn't, I was lucky, but mine were previously declawed by an earlier owner so those cats were special in other regards--declawed cats are cranky.

Definitely a British shorthair, the big round eyes and cobby body and round head are all in place. We can't see what's going on with the markings on the rest of the body but there's definitely a lot of tabby in there. The cats I had before my current pair of rescues were both pedigree British shorthair blues - they still have supporting roles in my comic. They make wonderful pets, they're affectionate and docile. And heavy. But check your local shelters first. For example...

Already been covered! Definitely a British shorthair !!!

But I will also add just go to shelters and look at some cats. Sometimes the cat you might not think is the absolute cutest is the one you end up clicking with.

Most of my cats I got through random circumstances (one was living on our block and crying a lot so we rescued her and the other just lived on our porch and kept coming inside) and I didn’t shop for em but they’re my favorites. They’re not the cutest but they have great personalities

It has some tabby cat markings that I recognized. But it's eyes are a lot bigger then most tabby's I've seen. So it must be some kinda of mixed breed.
