@jayorten Not entirely sure if this counts, but this is some of the best advice I was ever given (especially for any potential job):
"If you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late. If you're late, you're tardy."
It sounds petty, but it's basically saying "Be reliable." You want to be the type of employee (or person, in general) others can count on to show up and do the job you have been assigned. If you know or even suspect you are going to be late for something, call to let someone know. This proves that you are an aware and considerate person!
