What are some AUs that you want to explore with your characters?

I know that I've had a bunch of AUs that I've imagined my characters in(cause being in a multi-dimensional world with magic and science and a diverse set of cultures and backgrounds etc. is tiring /sarcasm) so I wanted to know what are some of your favorite AUs that you've put your blorbos in!

Personally, I've always got Music Conservatory AU on my mind(we get it, ur a music major) but recently, I've had a hankering for one of those classic Road Trip AUs. Big van, many roads, just vibes(i've got a spotify playlist LOL)

So what AUs do you find yourself veering towards? High Fantasy for your cyberpunk kids? Maybe a coffee-shop au because your tragic hero needs a venti latte? Or maybe you're evil and felt like putting your sweet coming-of-age highschool cast in a murder plot lol

• an AU where spring's parents didn't die
• an AU where spring's parents didn't die and finds Larry the same way he found Henry

• Hero and villain AU (Henry as a hero and Larry as a villain aprentice who is constantly stopped by Henry, who sees good in him)
• species swap AU (for one shots and stuff)

I’ve already got one “in the chamber” for my characters of Finding Daecon’s Way. Instead of a shapeshifter fantasy set in current times it will be a sci-fi story based in the near future with the main character (Daecon) being a self-constructed Android.

Maybe cyberpunk for Cracking Eggs and an Elsie universe where it’s set in the 1990s instead of the 1890s.

Perhaps even a version of Cracking Eggs taking place in a noir film type world where it’s presumably in the 1930s

I love fiddling with AU ideas for my historical fantasy characters from Secunda.
So far I've written a modern college short and I'm in the process of editing a historical occult/priest short. And I just started outlining a sci-fi short as well!

Cowboy AU and Mafia/Noir detective AU. Maybe cuz I don't have any cowboy/detective stories I mind that I actually want to make.

But also for the noir detective I just like dressing everyone up as femme fatales and their corresponding love interests as bewildered and only semifunctional detectives.

I sort of want to make an AU based on the 2006 version of Mr. Blueberry, which appeared in an April Fools comic. This character changed so much over the years that they are completely different characters. The series would probably be more random and surreal with a tone very similar to the April Fools comic.

Yea, I want to so a bunch. I already have art and some story ideas planned. Cyberpunk, Scifi, Band, Mafia, Noir, Supernatural, college, etc. Now will I ever get to those ideas outside of character art? No. I barely have enough time to work on the actual comic.

A part of me wants to make a special(like an anniversary or something) that focuses on an au but like ??? I have so much plot to get through?

I will always be baffled by people who find the time and energy to do those ON TOP of having a reoccuring series

I have the sketches for modern/non-fantasy AU and Japanese high school AU and I love them too much and I need more of them
High school one should probably be a short story filled with tropes xD

Never thought about it b4
but definitely a random location where a bunch of dangerous superhumans get crammed together
lined up at the bank or doctor's appointment (since the superhuman class have a bizarre flu). They all get invited to a birthday party maybe. It would escalate to them destroying each other and wrecking the entire planet or something so!

As there are musically inclined characters, and also having music background, (similar to you) the Road Trip or a concert would be fun, with a superhuman twist added maybe.

For my last comic, I drew a cafe AU of my deity characters for an October drawing prompt. I even wrote a small story about and I may end up making it if I finish the reboot.

I'm currently working on a college romance and wrote an AU centered around jrpg fantasy logic. With the leads in roles like fighter, mage, priest, etc and they go off to fight a demon lord.

Roleswap AUs are a guilty pleasure of mine, where different characters take roles that are normally filled by other characters. I think that could be interesting to explore with Niji Chikara, with stuff like "what if different heroes were chosen" or "what if different characters became the villains." There's a lot of possibilities!

(My bigger guilty pleasure is roleswap AUs where the characters are aware of the changes, which I have actually written one of those for Niji Chikara, lol.)

MAFIA AUS!!!!!! I always forget they exist and then its like WAIT THESE ARE KINDA BASED not to condone that sort of thing irl but like maybe i watched the godfather too many times lol
