What artists inspired you to keep drawing?

Despite me being in a art block at the moment, I would love to say all of the artists who keep me drawing (unless you want an endless list lol). But the main ones that keep me going are starexcorcist, Ross, and Shenanimation.

I was actually inspired by listening to Sleepycast (a podcast featuring several notorious flash animators.) for the first time decided to take drawing seriously. Most of the podcast is just dick jokes and off color humor, but hearing them talk about animation and drawing in general really inspired me to get back into drawing. They just had this sort of attitude about it that really struck me as something I could do. Whenever it came to getting better they would all say "You are gonna suck for a long time, and eventually you won't suck." It has really stuck with me.
The fact that a bunch of guys who never had any formal training were able to make careers and produce high quality content is just really inspiring.

Though I think my all time artist will be endling due to the fact that he has mastered so many different aspects of art: comics, storytelling, painting, shapes, character design, backgrounds, movement, and so on and so forth.

Loish, Cara Grand, Ka Vang, Tony Diterlizzi, Joe Madureira, Gerardo Sandoval, Greg Capullo, Jonboy Meyers, Lesean Thomas, Shono, and a lot of anime and manga (love Studio Ghibli and Bones). Also the art of Final Fantasy (namely Tetsuya Nomura) and the Castlevania games (Yoshitaka Amano for this one) really influences me.

My inspiration has always been Gris Grimly. He has such a creepy and cool style, which isn't reflected in my art at all, but I've always admired his work. He was what got me into seriously drawing to begin with Oh, and Disney movies. Always been a huge Disney fan, and seeing the movies and especially the behind the scenes, never fails to motivate me to become a better artist. And hopefully an animator of some sort in the future (always wanted to work for Disney as an animator).

There are many for me, but if I had to pick one it'd be Charles Schulz. Peanuts is the best comic anyone has ever made. I try to give my main character, Harold Thruston, Charlie Brown's feelings of being a loser but Harold is by no means like Charlie Brown.

Mark Crilley was the guy who inspired me to try taking art more seriously and really take the time to learn it.
A few tapastic creators who really inspired me were AtokNiiro, Uzuki Cheverie, Shenanigansen, and a few others.
For writing I got most of it from calvin and hobbes, south park (I wish I could use more of that though) and all the books I've read...

And I could go on and on about all my other inspirations and influences but I think that covers the basics...

Peter Bergting, author of The Portent, is the comic creator who inspired me to try and draw my own comic despite not having any experience at all. He told me to try "because a good story trumps bad art". So I did it and while I'm still workin on the art side of things I'm confident in my story. And super happy to have followed his advice!

burdge from deviantart was definitely a big inspiration for me to keep drawing, along with Avatar: The Last Airbender, and anime shows such as OHSHC and Lovely Complex (Aya Nakahara's style really inspired me).

Evan Dahm is my biggest inspiration for sure! I've been following his work for years, and while he wasn't what made me start comics, he's influenced my art and writing a lot. His comic, Vattu, is the kind of comic I hope to create someday

I have a lot of inspirations when it comes to my comics, but I guess the big one that actually has me where I am now would be Bill Watterson the creator of Calvin & Hobbes, but I guess my current art style inspiration is thanks to watching Slayers the Motion Picture, and the idea to actually post my comics would be from Domics and the Odd1sOut (even thought I don't use animation...)

Genndy Tartakovsky and Craig McCracken have been the major inspirations in my life. I grew up with their cartoons and sometimes when I feel down, I look at their work to feel better.
