What does your comic name mean in your own universe?

The name of your webcomic or novel might be a random word you found on the internet or an important quote by someone you admire, but what's the meaning that your characters give to it?

In my comic, Golden Podium is just the name of the academy where most of the events take place. My characters consider it their own home and are proud of being part of it.

What's the meaning your characters give to the title of your story?

Mine is "The Fate!"
This name was given because me and my co-author were often joking that the fate itself has made our characters couples.
One of the leading characters often teases his stubborn beloved that he "can't escape the fate" meaning it's their fate to fall in love. All the others don't really think about the fate, but it kind of influences them much

No Future

The title of the series in in regard to the main characters life circumstances.

Abaddon, the god of death accidentally killed Andrew before he was schedule to die, this a mistake that can't be fixed. Andrew no longer has a future because she took it from him through his death. He is compensated for her mistake by another god reversing time resulting in him to relive the years he has, as he can't continue living the years he should have because he has no future to live.

Rabble is pretty self explanatory; everyone who gained powers in my comic were the dregs of society. A random hodgepodge of drunks, the mentally ill, petty criminals, weaboos and other people you'd find on a bus in New Jersey in the middle of the day. No matter how powerful they get, the world still expects them to be nobodies.

The name All Good Things is meant to be taken decently literally right now at face value, only do to the lackadaisical nature of the main characters. Though in about 20 or so pages, that's gonna change due to plot. The most I can really say about that without spoilers though is 'finish the phrase'.

While RomaMates is just an indication that the story revolves around the romantic lives of the four roommates, my other story The Black Robin's title does have significance to the characters. One of the characters is often called "the Robin" or referred to as a black bird of some kind throughout the story. It becomes like symbol of them, the free bird clothed in darkness.

The name "Rise of the Heroes" actually has a function. It makes the characters sound like they're all noble, brave kind and chivalrous.
When they're actually not necessarily heroes and some of them were/will be villains/antagonists at some point. It takes something generic and adds a bit of a twist for the readers.

Memento mori : A memento mori (Latin 'remember that you must die') is an artistic or symbolic reminder of the inevitability of death. "The expression 'memento mori' developed with the growth of Christianity, which emphasized Heaven, Hell, and salvation of the soul in the afterlife."

My main character being a cleaner and atheist, memento mori has for her the first meaning. A constant reminder that life is a fragile thing that can stop suddenly from one moment to another. So she don't fear it, it's a completely normal thing like breathing in her eyes. But that doesn't mean she has a death wish, she only aware of it, that's all.

I would like to develop more, but I would end up writing a full thesis of the subject and it could spoil some point of my story !

For Our Universe, it has both romantic and literal aspects to it. Romantically, it's the world between two lovers. The world that happens within them and outside of them, but their love is their universe. Literally, it's a spoiler, but I do like the romantic spin.

Dragon Sparking?

In universe there are abilities that are called Sparks, they produce a flash of light when activated. So the Sparking part is just the active form of the word Spark.

The Dragon part comes from the main character Rip's ability name: the Dragon Spark.
I can't reveal too much due to spoilers, but it has to do with dragons (obviously)

Splitting Image is a pun on spitting image, and like in real life, doesn't actually exist in anyone's vocabulary in the story. Events that seem to repeat, people that act like those they hate or love against all odds, a protagonist that had an identical twin; but like Dylan's death, imitations are splitting and shattering even if many characters would rather things keep on repeating and never having to lift a finger to fix the mistakes that go far deeper and require real change. The world, though it looks fine, can't handle starting over anymore.

In Forces of Nature, the main characters are the living embodiments of the seasons and are the children of Mother Nature and Father Time. They are also able to control the weather so quite literally they're forces of nature.

In Circus Freaks, the characters are apart of a supernatural circus. They often refer as themselves as circus freaks since they work at a circus and have abnormal abilities.

My comic is called "Magicians of Metatron" and refers to Exorcists, demon hunters. Exorcists are humans that use special rings given to them by an Angel called Metatron. These rings give humans superhuman powers and allow them to hunt demons that threaten humanity. Exorcists can run in the air, move between earth and limbo, summon all kinds of weapons and use demons as familiars. To common folk Exorcists are breaking all the laws of physics and thus commonly refer to them as Magicians of Metatron.

The name of my comic Mukhtar is the name of my future MC who will have the drive to unite all nine factions into one nation.

But the reason why my main character didn't show up at the beginning is because I decided to show everyone the world he is living in and see what is at stake to each factions and to show how difficult it will be for Mukhtar to unite them all.

Either through Alliance, agreements or war.

For the little story, when I discovered your story, I was sure I knew the signification of the name, but I could not quite remember. Found out I'm just so used to the North African translitteration it just messed up with my brain
