lol. Well, the earliest reason for why I started drawing was because I wanted to make my own hentai. xD (I was 12, give me a break, will you?) In any case, I created an vast constructed world, complete with mountains of lore and characters, and lore of each character, and I had a story to go along with it. Sooo... I figured it was time to write my vast epic work.
The webcomic thing was actually supposed to be a special "extra" story that took place in the same world, but wasn't really meant to be part of the main storyline. It was kind of a silly extra goof off version of the world, where all the characters were the same, but had goof off personalities. Kind of like Japanese Omake.
Basically, I was a shit webcomic artist, but I was so shit that I didn't realize how shit I was. In fact, I thought I was close enough to go pro with just a little bit more practice. Boy, was I dumb. In any case, I spent 2 years working my ass off to get my webcomics up, only to realize that I was actually shit at drawing, lol.
Except... by the time I realized I actually was not that great, I felt I actually had gotten good enough that maybe I could get good enough with... you guessed it, "just a bit more practice", lol. This was probably for the best, as my epic story was going nowhere in its written form. I was running into so many issues with trying to get what was in my head onto the page through words...
and then one day I decided to try and do the main storyline in webcomic form. At that point, all of the issues I was having with text pretty much dissappeared. It felt like (and still does!) the panels, and the images that go in them, just place themselves down before me. I just know what each page looks like. This sucked, because my story is so large and complex that doing it in comic form is enough to drive a man to despair. T_T
But.... writing was like pulling teeth, which was taking forever anyway, so I figured if I was going to take my time regardless, then I might as well take my time getting the story out in a way that wasn't a pain in the ass.
And pow, meesa here. :3
