What is the scariest comic you have read?

I've never read a comic that "scared" me. But to be fair, I don't really read horror that often. So I'm gonna cheat a little bit and give you a manga. It's called "Mieruko-Chan [The Girl That Can See It]"

The title is pretty self explanatory. The story follows a teenage girl that can see ghosts? (I have no clue about what they are.) And she's trying to live her everyday life while ignoring them. This manga is one of those rare gems that I would call a "Masterpiece". The art is amazing and it really gives off that "Is there someone behind me?" feeling. The story is equally as good as the art and it really makes you feel bad for her. Combine this with the comedic timing and you truly have a one of a kind manga. Also there were a few chapters that made me cry. (You'll know them when you see them.)

Todd McFarlane's "Spawn" had quite a lot of hellish plots and characters, great illustrations, gone too soon. The HBO series was kinda neat though.

Well not exactly scared cause I don't usually get scared from horror genre things (excluding horror video games, guess it's because it's easier to be scared if you can be attacked by something, even if it's just who you're playing as)

But anyway, I was genuinely creeped out, in the best way by Jinji Ito's work
Though for now I'll say the first one of his comics I read; "Uzumaki"

Just the incredible detail of the unsettling panels, and the eerie, bleak situation of the place the characters find themselves in.

I forgot the title, but apparently it's a hentai chapter that somehow made its way to my Facebook feed.

If summed into two terms it would be Lantern girls and Dehumanisation. I'm weak with Horror, and that one stayed in my mind for a few days that I think of sequels where the bad guys get their karma or that the comic was a satire or a criticism of a social issue.

"The Window next door" - by Junji Ito.

I have read Uzumaki, the enigma of Amigara Fault, and other short stuff by Junji Ito, but the window next door is the scariest to me, and the weird part is that...you don't even know if the creature in this comic is actually evil or just some deformed being.

In other Junji Ito comics, you don't know what the supernatural thing is, but at least you can tell is evil or how it will kill you, but you have zero answers from the window next door. And it doesn't help that to me that creature has one of his most creepy designs.

Seconding Junji Ito's works here! I really love his style but "The Groaning Drain" and "The Human Chair" are two of his stories that legitimately creeped me out haha. What happens is impossible but the surreal, claustrophobic nature is spooky af. (Amigara falls into that too!)

Hmm, I never found a webcomic that really scared me other than that one flash webtoon. In general comics don't really manage to scare me that much.

There is one I read as a kid though that really freaked me out when I first found it, Ibitsu

I don't read or even like horror (so easily spooked!), but I read Uriah by Toffuo because they're swedish and I like to keep myself educated on what other swedish comic artists are up to... it freaked me out lol. Thought I would be fine because there's no supernatural spooky stuff, but the unfolding of all the increasingly disturbing things that had happened really messed with me
