There are two kinds of featured:

  1. Their pro comics. These are the comics that show up when you click on "Daily Featured." The creators of these comics sign a contract and get paid by Webtoons (different from their Patreon thing, and probably significantly more money, too) to make their comic. This is probably what people mean when they say "featured."

  2. Discover comics that are put on the spotlight, i.e. "Recommended titles," "weekly hot."

To make it less confusing, there are two sections of comic on Webtoon. Featured and Discover.

Featured Comics are kinda like your typical Premium comic on any other site (even Tapas!) these are the comic that has signed a contract with Webtoon and is exclusive on Webtoon. The author of featured series get pay consistently with each update they make by Webtoon. Only comics that are hand picked and contacted by Webtoon go to this section.

Discover section is a free for all where anyone can post whatever they want, much like the fresh section of Tapas. These creators do not get paid or has to stay exclusive on Webtoon. Only right now Webtoon is doing a support program that pledge money to comic base on their performance monthly.

Recommended section and weekly round up all cover Discover comics which I generally just call them “recommended” or “promoted” to avoid confusion.

Something I'll reach in 75 years. I need 2 subscribers for double digits so that's pretty much how my series is going.

lol keep trying, man.. i only very recently passed 2 digits myself sighs

oh i think i misunderstood..? since this is in the webtoons sub lol
here’s the series on tapas

& thanks for the compliment ~~

do u got one here or ??

Sounds pretty interesting so far. It’s neat seeing a comic dealing with mental health, subbed for now and looking forward to seeing where it goes !
