It took me a bit to work it out, but for me, going onto the Messages tab and clicking "mark all as read" did it. I'd been clicking "mark all as read" on the Activity tab, which doesn't remove those.

It should probably be flagged though because if it's not immediately apparent that's what needs doing, the UX design isn't good.

Huh, yeah, I think I clicked like 5 times on it, but maybe I used Activity tab. It finally disappeared now.

I woke up to 79 notifications and I was so excited only to find out they were mostly gifts and messages. They should have a different option for creators (or anyone in general really) if they don't want to get gift/message notifications. I only really want them for things I read/made. And the popup was really convenient as well. They did the same thing for updated series.

My "mark as read" isn't working, so I'm stuck with 78 notifs.

Tapas, come on. You're all humans too. You like to check your social media on a daily basis like everyone else here. Would you like to be redirected to a bunch of adverts for media you're not following rather than your actual messages? No! Changes like this just want me to get off your site completely, jeez.

This reminds me of Twitch. I haven't logged in there for awhile, but from what I remember most notifications there are actually ads, and it is obnoxious on every platform that does it. Not a fan.

Ticket sent and I urge everyone to do the same, let's at least try to deal with this.

Methinks someone at Tapas HQ is getting shipped off to the Squid Game today.

keep on clicking it on the messages tab, it took me multiple clicks but they finally got cleared up
how can you break notifications this badly...? this was almost the only thing left that I'd praise tapas over webtoon

I just got a new notification and I can't even find out which tab it is coming from :cry_01:

Oh boy, I love having my inbox cluttered up by a bunch of bullshit. A great way for me to never read any of these webcomics. Who thinks changes like these are going to be perceived well?

I never liked that promos and site updates were on the same tab as the series messages. I seem to no longer get messages for likes or follows. It is really annoying.

This also confused me so much too, I'm like I liked the notifications tab, it's easy, clean and I know what matters to me, in the desktop and now I have to figure out what's happening, it threw me off when it happened too. And now, it's even harder to figure out what I've missed or what needs answering.

I was going to make a post too! But then I was like, maybe I'm being over dramatic. It's so annoying, and the complete opposite of what I would want on Tapas proper. I wish there was a way to switch from a creator page and reader page so we can decide what kind of notifications we get. I can't believe they're doing this after they finally toned down on the ads in the activity tab.

I have a conspiracy. Maybe they did this with intent to get us to be annoyed so they can bog down the obscure comics and raise up the ones that’ll most definitely get readership.

:flushed:

…or, more likely, the paid/premium ones.

Glad I’m not the only one having kittens over this…

Waking up to 79 plus notifications made me really happy until I saw it was mostly spam :expressionless:

Yep. I also hate the new Tapas idea.

...so anyone in GlobalComix? This is an excelent moment to try a sell speech =D
I know I will be there for my next project, but it seems that the webcomics industry is trying hard to make me leave their star sites anyway.
