What the heck? inbox?

I got 81 messages and jumped from my hammock. Nothing even remotely related to what I use to read. Why so much despair, Tapas???

I'd just note that I'm a reader rather than a tapas creator myself, but I still only use view tapas on my laptop, not on my phone, as I like being able to see the comics on a larger screen. And even as a reader, the activity tab is the only tab that I find useful out of these notifications. I want to know if someone I'm subscribed to shares a post or if someone replies to a comment I made, not if there's a promotion for a series I'll never read.

Okay, and it's totally fine you do that, but you're not the majority of users, and especially not users who are readers, but not creators. Also I'm not Tapas, so complaining about it to me won't really do much. Believe me, if I had any position in Tapas where I could change this, I would.

Since you were bringing that up, it seemed like a useful springboard for explaining why it's a general usability issue; I'm certainly not the only person having this problem. That doesn't make that a personal complaint to you, that's just standard quoting of a post for context.

Well uhhh, this isn't the inbox thing, but i guess they're working on a multitude of bugs atm. lol
I'm hopeful they'll come to an understanding about the inbox shenanigans soon...

Sorry to necropost on an old thread lol, but this is the topic that always comes up whenever I've tried to google this issue. Has there been a solution to this yet? (Could there be a setting somewhere to disable notifications appearing for 'messages' and only get them for 'activities'?)

This has just continued to be cumbersome, needing to always clear out the messages tab in order to see if there are notifications in the activities tab.

in all 5 months since the change there's been no option to hide any of it so i'm doubting even more that there's chance of it going away or for users to bee given the option to hide it

maybe there's different thoughts or opinions about it on the disccord but from what we've seen here 🤷
