Do you guys have an original direction/ending for your story that's completely different from what you have now?

For me, That Stick Figure Isekai was originally going to be two seasons long and just revolve around Naota and Nikado. Naota has MASSIVE daddy issues while Nikado? He has major brother issues. You can still see shreds of that in the Dodgeball Arc.

The ending was going to be bittersweet where Naota returns to Earth and finds out the his father doesn't accept him. Naota then goes "Fine I don't need you" and we get this honestly overly written sequence where we see Naota get older and older. The Dad is on his death bed and is like "I'm sorry I was wrong". And the two play ball.

It's a pretty bad ending looking back. Especially since I was still finding my footing with the story? It wasn't supposed to get this big if I'm being honest. It was just supposed to be a quick write-off comic.

It wasn't until I introduced QUINCY where I realized "Oh shoot... I can do MORE with this isekai idea then I thought". Now it's become this grand character driven shonen comic with an ending that's COMPLETELY different from the weird father ending. I'm really thankful that I was allowed to get crazy with the story.

Originally it was going to end after Lorelei was defeated
Then I thought "Wait, I want more."

Lmao yeh. I love those type of continuations where the creator was like "I want more". Sorta like a parents wants another kid or something :v

Yeah! Also, there was still loads of potential and unanswered questions.

my ending was actually written before anything else so I'm just moving toward it.

In Crow's Worth, there was suppose to be a chapter about a wedding but got cut due to being filler. There was also a closet demon, which honestly if I ever do a sequel series, it would probably be about him.

My current comic more or less always had the ending I'm planning, but boy did I go through a lot of different ending options for ATWWS (which I'm still planning behind the scenes2):

  • Cleria dies and Sigma cries on her, at which point his 'natural spell' manifests itself as Swiss-Army Tears and causes her to come back to life. They travel to 'hell' and uses Sigma's 'natural spell' (which had some lore implications I won't go into) to save Cleria's old friends
  • Cleria dies and Sigma goes to "hell" to save her soul
  • Cleria lives but in a vegetative state, Sigma goes insane and thinks she's still conscious (or is he insane? Maybe she's actually conscious and he's the only one who understands her ...)
  • (Current version) Cleria lives, but is paralysed and they think she's braindead until they take her to an artifact that lets people read each other's thoughts. She and Sigma go to "hell" to save her old friends

The original direction for my Dragon Chapel comic was to make it fairly lighthearted and easygoing (for the most part) like a Studio Ghibli film, Kiki's Delivery Service being the main inspiration when I started it as a High School project, though with even less conflict than a Ghibli Film as well.

As the years wore on, I preferred to change my heroine from someone who stays as a pure of heart Cherub the whole way through, to someone who goes through my world and has it negatively change her and her outlook on the nature of mortals, then finding a way to hope despite the despair, thus making her more relatable to the reader.

I was going to make another arc of Arenear.

Basically Die Hard 1, gang members taking hostages and contestants in arena. But I really wanted to move on to a new project and not overdo myself.

Oh, and Brije supposed to focus more on the main alpaca protagonist, but I suck at making main protagonist from the cover. As was the case with Arenear. Class based protagonists system works better for me, apparently.

In the Cursed Paw I was gonna end it by getting all of the characters figure out that they're in a story and it revolves around the MC so they think the only way to end the suffering is by getting rid of the MC. That felt too dark so not gonna do that anymore
