So I found this technique from Youtube (it's in Bahasa Indonesia btw but it has some translation baloons):

And so I tried and ended up finding my own way. I would ask you to choose which do you prefer seeing in a comic with manga style between the four images I developed:

  1. Outline with gaussian blur
    IMG_0873 gaussian blur wo bitmap2

  2. Outline with gaussian blur with bitmap conversion
    IMG_0873 gaussian blur1

  3. Outline with threshold
    IMG_0873 threeshold wo bitmap3

  4. Outline with threshold with bitmap conversion
    IMG_0873 threeshold

If it's hard to distinguish between the bitmap-converted and not, you can just choose between the gaussian-blur-outlined and the threshold-outlined. Thank you!

Gotta go with three. I feel like it looks the cleanest?

ETA: Did you make the images larger? I think it was easier to compare when they were smaller.

Thank you for your response!

No, I didn't enlarge the pictures, in fact I made them smaller. I tried making them even smaller but they become indistinguishable especially between the bitmap and the non-bitmap ones.

Huh, that's weird. They inexplicably got bigger when I reloaded the page. CONSPIRACY????

HAHAHAHA I didn't see that coming!!

But now you mention it maybe gonna resize them to be smaller and reuplod them here.

I'd have to go with 3. The others have more grain to them and are slightly lighter coloured which makes it more obvious that they were originally photos. The background of 3 looks most like an ink drawing, but the foreground could be simplified a bit.

Both look good, but I would go with 3. I like the level of black and white as well as contrast.

@Mocha I see, thank you for your opinion. I think most ppl go with number 3.

@ashriott Thank you for your response! So yes number 3, all ppl who comment here chose number 3 so I'll go with number 3 :3
