Hi! I joined Tapas a looong time ago, but wasn't till just tonight I decided to freshen up my first chapter of something I've been working on for years and publish it in here! There was like an invigorating awakening from my writers block, very suddenly, and goddamnit I went for it!

I hope you all feel as excited for their writing and stories as I do for mine! And big congratulations to the ones of you that has gotten Staff-picked!

That's awesome you got staff picked! I'm sorry to hear that some people discouraged you. Even though they said those things, you should keep trying.

I know it's hard to write when you feel discouraged. Barely anyone reads my stories on here, so that discourages me from writing, but all I can do is keep trying.

That's awesome! Writing is more fun when you're full of ideas. It's easier to write and update!

I'm sorry to hear you lost some subs. I lost some subs, too, but I gained some new ones rather quickly.

I hope you get some new followers soon =)

I remember you =)

I started reading your story, and I've enjoyed it so far. That's awesome you got on the New & Noteworthy list. Yes! Posting regularly does help draw in readers. Keep writing, and thank you for sharing with us!

Thanks. It's such a nice community. It's like an Underground Renaissance Movement. I hope it stays evergreen as time passes by. :seedling: :evergreen_tree: :leaves:

Kindly remember that it's not about being noticed. It's about being the recognized by the right people. We need the right audience in order for art to flourish. You'll find them soon. :hamster:

Patience is key.

That's awesome!

I feel most, if not all, writers want to be noticed for their work. Keep trying though and see what happens. I think the rule is five years. If after five years you don't get noticed, then maybe it's time to consider quitting.

Good News!!

Released 1/4 a new arc of Dead End Florals. I got a nice amount of new subs.

I got onto the new and noteworthy list for my writing. I feel like my writing has improved dramatically. I'm ambivalent about traditional publishing because I feel my writing isn't pop/mainstream enough.

This is also my first post in the forums. Hi everyone! :relaxed:

I'm not exactly the type to quit. I've been writing for about 13 years and not planning to quit, just gonna keep trying to get better and better

I mostly meant hadn't been picked for staff picks and daily snacks and all that
but thanks for the encouragement

Hello! Thanks for joining us, and congrats on getting featured!

I have the same fear about traditional publishing. My stories also aren't mainstream enough, but I'm hoping I'll build an audience here =)

I think that's what I like most about the Tapas community so far. How nice it is. It's easy to connect and talk to one another.

hey there everyone! just finished my 165th page of my second book... 170k words into my series and I think im slowly getting the hang of it :stuck_out_tongue:
as to getting noticed... I got a couple of readers on other sites but tapas has been slow... probably need to advertise more actively XD

I was able to get to the trending page but for like a really short while lolol but I'm happy with that  I've also gained some new subscribers!!! yaayyyy!!!

No features here, but I finished W&W on a strong note I think and I've started a new thriller series called Just A Small Thing. I'm very excited to start working on it because for me it's a bit of an experimental practice in doing different POV writing and in playing with narrative reliability.

I've also learned my lesson from W&W and will not be making individual thumbnails for each chapter. You can't even see them anyway, blech!! Waste of my time!

Nothing much with the short story, but it seems (after some unforeseen happenings) my book will be available, starting next week!
I've also started on another novel, but I want to work up a buffer before posting anything!
