Hi. It won't be activated automatically. But you'll be able to do it manually once you reach the minimum requirement of 250 subscribers.

From my experience, it is 12 coins = .01 USD. So pretty much, yes 900 coins would be .75 cents. I don't know anything about keys or locking premium content, so I cannot comment on if the payout there is the same but I imagine it would at least be similar.
Thanks for letting me know. So the only chance for "under 250 subs" is to wait for an event and then ask for activation because of it. Cera, you're fantastic for letting me know this! Happy belated Thanksgiving! 
As of now, you can only activate it once you reach the minimum 250 subscribers. The email activation was only available for a limited time before the end of the last tipping event. 
Unless something has or will change... which is why I'm excited for the next event. 
I have a feeling we might get another tipping event. If this happens, we may just be given another limited period for tipping to be enabled via email. Please let it be!

I'm sick of losing subscribers just randomly. I would have 60 or so right now, but I lost a few and it annoys me. And no one even tells me what I did wrong or why.

I think it depends on the content they make. If you make something like Rick and Morty, you could get away with it because that's the audience you're creating for. It's weird when you're doing more general PG13 things though and start referring to your audience as stuff like that.
For me... It's when someone experiences considerable success with their comic, then complains about how badly it's doing, and that other people don't deserve the success they have. I knew someone who'd always complain like this when people they didn't like did well.

I've noticed many people lose subs, so it happens. I'm at the point where I expect to lose more subs than gain subs. Don't let it discourage you, though; your loyal readers will stick around and support you.
