Runewriters is digitally hand-lettered! This is mostly because I really like playing with the lettering to represent different things; Tareth's lowercase, stick-and-circle font reflects how her deaf accent comes across differently to her hearing friends; Jonan's muffled scribbles are less weird than literally all his dialogue being the letter "m"; his handwriting shows up in word balloons when he's communicating that way; one character later has a slight lisp so her "s"s are all backwards, there's a magic language that uses a set of symbols I invented, ETCETERA.
It SURE DOES take extra time, and it's definitely the first step I drop when I'm doing things like silly holiday comics or patreon specials, but lettering is a kinda enjoyable, zen thing for me. :> (I also use this tip/cheat to keep everything even more easily!)
Some other hand-letterers I know of:
Postcards in Braille - (ames lettering guide and all!)
Cucumber Quest
Goodbye to Halos
There's a pretty good number of us out there!! : )
