Any unpublished character or story ideas?

Does anyone else just plan out comic ideas that they know will never happen or is that just me lol

When I'm bored, I write a whole list of story ideas that I don't even want to work on or publish, and then I'll even create names for the characters and a whole character design. The most recent one was this random idea I had and just drew out for fun:

I kind of like it though so maybe in the future(?)
Edit: I do have a separate list of ideas and concept artwork that I do want to make into a real comic, but in the unknown future ◡̉̈

I do, but I'm actually planning to publish it at one point. Been working on a new comic for the past couple years, by writing a plot and drawing out character designs. Even made a title logo for it:

Currently I'm just wrapping up the rough draft for the plot as I'm writing the epilogue for the story. So I'm pretty far in the process now

I've got 10 unpublished characters in my Tapas novel Rebirth of the Unrivaled Water Specialist. The title's quite a mouthful but I'll set that issue aside to focus on the characters. I may be on a short hiatus though.

Yup, same. I've made all kinds of stories/character designs over the years. I knew I would probably never turn them into finished works, but they were just fun to do, as well as good learning experience. Here's a few:

I have a big ol' novel project that has been in development since before Splitting Image. I had to redo most of it because it had a lot of 16-year-old-isms though, and unlike the comic, it was so thoroughly written down that it's harder to go through and slowly chip away at the problems, let alone sit down and write the final product ;_; I still draw the characters on it whenever I can though!

The characters are in desperate need of redesigns too, I use them a lot for my art classes and never really went into outfit/proportion research until recently ;_;

I'm so glad we shortened the stories, we might have to cut out a lot but with the number of stories we're telling having a 100 chapter story isn't feasible when it will take me 2 years to finish 30 chapters. - which is the size of an average novel so the pacing is fine tbh.
hopefully, I'll get a little break when I'm done with my current project though haha

i have a huge google doc full of comic ideas that I will eventually get to, lmao. A couple I've started outlines for in between me working on my comic. here are some i like:

• An mlm retelling of Cinderella where "Cinderella" is an assassin sent to assassinate Prince Charming before the ball even starts.
• Superhero comic where Protag A is the child of a famous superhero and Protag B is the child of the famous superhero's rival/villain, so A and B are often fighting each other, typical superhero cartoon style. Unbeknownst to them, they're classmates, then friends, then girlfriends.
• Reboot of one of my old comics where the perspective switches between modern-day, where the characters are adults, and the characters' teenage years, as the mystery is given more and more context and the protagonists accomplish their character arcs (this is ballsy, this is a mystery-supernatural story. i havent figured out how to make it work but damn do i want to)
• The Good Place-esque comic where the new guardian of a branch of the afterlife, named a "guardian" notices the memories of a soul she can't find anywhere and has to discretely find the missing soul or else she loses her job
• Fanfiction writer and fanartist who are friends online but rivals irl become roommates.

Of course, my curse is to make my comics absurdly long so I'm looking at about 8-9 years before i do anything with these. Go me.

So many... So. Many. I have a binder of all the ideas I've ever come up with and like op, they have character designs, synopsis, etc. Some are expansive fan content, some are fully original. I just really love creating lol! I'd love to finish "Mesmerize" one day which has to do with using stars for mind control. (It would be a psychological thriller based on government intelligence.)

Many 🥲. Mostly due to me getting intimidated with the drawings. The one I remember the most was a story idea from high school that I love but know that it’s trashy. And from that story I have a favorite set of characters. One of them kept appearing in my other comics and he is not even my favorite out of the bunch.

Yeah basically it's pretty obvious just from the drawing what I was thinking but I did kind of end up liking the idea

I had an unused character in one story that I am going to be using in this current one. The previous project fell apart because I couldn't figure out where it would go.
Here is the old design of the character: Nameless. But parts of the design, especially the horn and muscular-skeletal suit, are definitely going to be used in my current webcomic series in the future. The world this character is in has been completely scrapped.

I have a catalogue of characters I'm yet to introduce to the story - and it pains me to have to wait. I just want to introduce them already! Finally have introduced a bunch of characters in my latest chapter - But that is just the tip of the iceberg. Still a lot more yet!
