Are you addicted to your comic?

I was in that zone with my print series, The Clique. Ever since I had decided to remaster the series(I 1st created it back in 99), I had been running non stop- trying to type out all the entries for the Profiler(character book), drawing & inking all the entry pics for that project, pushing myself to learn how to color with PS so that I could color it, coloring it as well as the other books throughout the year(as well as remastering the actual pages for the regular series), pushing myself to get better at lettering, and then pushing myself more with design concepts, completing poster art..it's a wonder I'm still alive.

In fact, I finished the latest issue of my print series back in October, and that's when I decided to pump the brakes on anymore production on The Clique for right now. I have 5 books out, and I decided to devote most of this year to getting my Ray Thunder web series off the ground. The doozy for me will come when I dont have anymore books to remaster, and will actually have to do an entire issue...but hopefully I will have cut my teeth with Ray Thunder to the point where I can do an entire book digitally and wont lose speed, pace, or focus.

So yeah, you could say I'm addicted to my comic(s).

I'm not sure if I'm addicted to 2 Leaf Clover but I just fell in love so much with my character that I catch myself thinking of them during the day...
Whenever I have a good idea for a future chapter I tend to write them down on my phone or start daydreaming about them...
At work, I keep evernote open just in case I get an inspiration for writing a new chapter.

Basically, I'm always thinking about them...
Maybe I am addicted...

For the past 10 years, I'd agree that I spend on average 30 to 50 percent of my waking day either thinking a plot point through or doing world building for my story... I don't know if that's a problem or not lol.

I do spend most of my time either think about my action comic "Seishin Patona" or my drama comic "In The Midst". I have scenes that I haven't drawn yet play in my head all the time. Sometimes a story idea can become more clear when I bring it out of my subconscious and start actively thinking about it. Lately though it hasn't been on my mind as much but, its still on my mind.

Simply put, yes. Though recently I have discovered there is more to life than sitting downstairs and drawing. I keep myself working because I want this story finished and If I don't do it it won't get done. Lately I work myself hard for two nights, then maybe relax on video games before going back to work.

As for working on other drawings, I make my own schedule. Sometimes I do tend to work on the comic as opposed to other drawings, but often times it's the other way around. Since I'm drawing the comic so much, often other projects are a bit of a break from the comic. But the comic takes priority overall because I try to stick to my schedule.

if it was me back in 10 years ago...yes...but now i got work commitment and went home at night where I value my spare time over other things besides drawing comic.

I'm not exactly sure if i'm addicted to Cosmos Song or just the idea of the comic. I spend so much time working on just 1 page that it's sort of hard not to think about it all the time. I'm just really excited about the future story unfolding and all. The comic is a little different from my ordinary storytelling style so i'm constantly thinking of how i'm going to illustrate the later scenes when they arrive :o.

It's just a week and yes! I love my Bomb "A" and im very motivated to work to it. i love to tell story of jokes and action and fantasy inside of my head that wants to unleash that's why i make comics.

You are just like me, you stick to a schedule. For my comic I do 3 pages of Seishin Patona then switch to In The midst and do 3 pages for that. This way I can keep the interest level between the two comics balanced. However, if someone wants an art trade or a request I start that as soon as I finish the page I am currently working on.

I've actually had anxiety attacks from not working on my comic. If I went an entire day without doing a single bit of drawing, it hits me pretty hard, especially when other people don't respect it. Of course, I did go a bit overboard with how much comic making I did a week, but it was the most fun I had doing anything for a while. So if someone comes up and says, hey I need you for a long period of time, so much so that you won't be able to do any comic making, I end up feeling like I wasted an entire day. If it's a weekend I feel much better because that's not usually when I do comic making, but sometimes I just can't go without making something. And if you take that away from me, there will be blood tonight.

Most of the time it's off and on motivation for Amy Plays Games and I'm mostly using that comic to get better at developing my skills. I'm actually more obsessed with working on the story for another comic that's been going around in my head.

I am also addicted to mine and find myself on some occasions juz spacing out as I'm making up a plot or scene in my mind.
The only times that I don't space out like that is when I'm in class and I'm really happy cuz of that.

Well for me, I'm addicted to my future-comic. I've got a lot of work to do for school, A LOT! But whenever I can, I just draw the characters that are going to be in this comic into my sketchbook and always add more and more ideas of their background and how the story is going to progress. Even in school, when I'm supposed to be listening, I'm drawing (don't worry I'm still understanding the work at school). Plus whenever I get new ideas, I message my friend about it and he just listens, maybe add in a few ideas to make it better (there's a lot of that too). Shit I'm rambling on... uhh... basically yes.

Heh. I think a little addiction is a good thing! It means you're really enthusiastic about what you're working on! I guess I'm addicted to my comic, Stellar persona a bit. On and off through out the day I'm thinking up plot points, scene layout, character development ideas and trying to get them in them story.!
