I've used Dreamhost12 for ten years, for personal blogs, portfolios1, and now my webcomic2. No complaints! And they've always been fantastically quick about their bug ticket system. They often have some great sales on hosting, too, so I'm sure if you can wait til around Black Friday you might find the price drop even more. Also, I believe they have a one click install for Wordpress if that's what you're deciding to go with! (:

Name.com do a domain for a dollar deal for new customers. A few of the bigger services do this too. I think namecheap used to too.

@raintowns i checked the hosting prices it's $9.88 per year but there's a renewal price of $38.88

I honestly don't know what that renewal price mean.

Oh! You're right, I don't know it either... I guess it means once a year of hosting is done you have to pay a renewal fee? Idk. Ack. D: perhaps it's not the cheapest after all.

I use Bluehost and I love them. I rarely have any problems, and when I did (self inflicted the first time, hacked the second time) they were very helpful and responsive. They're also a great price for what you get (hosting and domains with free subdomains).

A few times a year Dreamhost has a sale where it's like 3$ a month, forever, for unlimited hosting, emails, domain parking, etc.

GoDaddy is cheap for domain hosting. For sure you're not paying 40$ for a one year renewal. That's probably the cost for 3-5.

GoDaddy has TERRIBLE support services and are such a pain to work with, though. If you can, get your hosting services through someone else and just buy the domain through GoDaddy. I've worked with too many clients who use GoDaddy and it's always been a difficult time.

@Silerna ooh that's pretty interesting. I'm gonna check that out.

Thank you guys for your suggestions! smiley

I use namecheap for our website's domain3 - I pay a bit more than most, but it's once of those novelty domains and people comment on it all the time, so it's been worth it smiley

For hosting I use NearlyFreeSpeech. It's kind of unique in that it provides a "pay as you go" scheme - you top it up with some cash and it only charges you for the bandwidth, storage and services that you use. It's been great value in the past, but I feel that as our website is growing and getting more visitors, it might lose its advantages - the costs keep growing with every month. But we'll see.

I have choosen captain.host1 for both domains and hosting. I have checked their prices and are already low without waiting from my side when some of the rest of hosting company would send me acoupon with a discount.

Their after sales service in absolulty perfect and they have cooprations with lot of data centers arround the words for best SEO results. It seems that is a quite new company and for these reason I support them.

I hope I helped. (Flee free to condyct me for more information)
