No problem ThoughtfulBoxful. :smile:

This tutorial is not just limited to CSP users either, so I hope it can help many people!

Are you 100% positive about that ? My print to pdf option says Microsoft Office pdf.... on my old pc I didn't have an Adobe sub and it let me print to pdf all the time. I'd test now but I caved and got a sub so not sure- hope that is a free option still :slight_smile:

25 days later

I was about to open a new thread to ask some question regarding CSP but since there is already an existing one I will just temporarily revive it to ask my question haha.

CSP rolled out a new update that includes auto save function, GREAT! But my biggest concern is if I was to install this new update, would it overwrite my old update and thus, make me lose all my shortcut, brush setting, downloaded asset on my current CSP? I don't see an option to safely update the program like any other program, but CSP seems to ask you to download an entirely new installer. I'm worried haha ;_;

Ah, no! It won't delete anything. At least I didn't seem to lose anything while updating, all my shortcuts + 3rd party brushes, assets etc were exactly the same after updating it today. It doesn't uninstall the previous version ( i think) just overwrites / adds some stuff.

But you need to open the program through Clip Studio to activate it for the first time after update to see the changes.

Thank you for the reply! That is reassuring : ) I can finally update and take advantage of this new auto save function in peace now //

Glad to help! I'm super happy they have file recovery now in case of a blackout or something.

So I feel like I just updated it. I downloaded, went through all the things to install, how do I know if CSP actually updated?

I went to Preferences and File but it doesn't have the same options like in the picture they showed on their website. Is it possible I just didn't install it correctly and CSP didn't update?

Ok I click that and then what? It just doesn't have any clear options. My computer is saying the update is installed, but when I check the version of clip studio it is still saying the old version.

I have Clip Studio EX if that makes a difference.

Did you open CPS through Clip Studio?

You need to open the program through that for update to finish. I also had to delete my old icon I had docked and switch it to the new one that opened. I have EX version too, so that at least isn't the issue. You can check your version by Help -> Version information. This is what mine says about the version number.

When your update is successful, your interface will look slightly different from before too, making it easy to identify.

I hope you'll get it to work!

Yes. So I go to the Clip Studio, then I click Paint and it opens up the same CSP. Under help version info it still says version 1.6.2 If I try to download and install the new version again, my computer tells me I've already installed the latest version. There seems to be some other issue. I even had my husband who works for Windows do it too incase I was doing something wrong and he couldn't figure it out either.
I contacted CELSYS so hopefully they can help me out.

@beta1042 Mm ok I'll tell you what I did

I went to my 'delete programs' and uninstalled the OLD clip studio (light colored icon) because there is a clip studio for the old version and a clip studio for the update. Edit looking back i don't think i needed to do this

I went into my programs (C: thingy) and located the NEW clip studio, not the old one. Launched that

There were a couple of windows inside the new clip studio and one of them leads to the update i think? Or it was automatic

I hope that helps ;;

Ok this helped!!! Thanks so much :slight_smile:
My husband said the reason it didn't work was because the original version I had was an English version, but the new update was a non-language specific version, apparently that made problems. I don't really understand but it works now, so yay!

Debating on getting EX- I'm not sure if they do the upgrade anymore...my only issue is that I DON'T want to have to reload all my brushes. Any way that I can upgrade or get the full version of EX and not have to reload all my brushes?

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy does anyone know how to import textured brushes into CSP? Or is that not possible? I'm using the trial version btw. Actually, is there any way to make textured brushes at all?

You can import CSP brushes into CSP, which have a .sut file extension. I don't think you can import brushes from SAI or other programs though.

You can create textured brushes - in the tool property window for any brush, click the little wrench icon, which brings up the full list of settings.

Once you've added a texture to a brush you can mess around with the various settings.

You can create a texture (or brush) out of any image by going to Edit -> Register Material -> Image, which makes this pop up:

Then the image should be available to use as a texture or a brush shape.

Hopefully that's not too confusing X)

Just to add! You can look for free brushes in the Asset shop. I usually browse there when I'm having art block to find some new tools and stuff and there are a lot of premade brushes that people are sharing that are AWESOME.
