I'm curious because I know a couple people who are like "I'm only gonna work on this one project for a long time and that's it," and people who have a million stories planned.

For me, I have a ton of projects lined up after I finish my current comic! I do a lot of writing for them while still working on my current comic because I have a lot of stories I'm excited to tell. I do mainly write horror, I love dramatic stuff but a couple of them are very fantasy because I love designing clothing and settings for that genre.

I'm really looking forward to eventually making my epic lgbtq+ fantasy story (yes, the one I made when I was 13, it's called I love my edgy little characters) It's been a story that's stuck with me so long that I know I need to make it a comic, and goddamn am I gonna make it good.

And I will continue to make more and more comics after that :heart_03:

Yeah, after I'm done with my current series "Stacy the demon killer" I wanna work on this other action series I got planned called "Red" it's a story about little red riding wanting to get revenge on the big bad wolf for the death of her family. I'm getting inspiration from Underworld, kill bill, and devil may cry.

I plan to do some work for Marvel and DC some time after I'm done with my comic.

We have 2 comics in progress, and if I will ever finish them, I still have 4 more scripts that are basically ready to be finished  Not counting a few that are still under construction or just put aside and some one-shots. Most of them are sci-fi/fantasy mysteries in different settings, because that's what my writer loves and I am doing my best to make them as various in designs as possible xD

I have so many ideas i want to turn into comics but as long as i have to have a fulltime job and can only draw my comic on the side i have to focus on one at a time and i counted on my current comic taking about 13 years or something 🥲

So unless ill some day make money on the current comic and can speed up the process i dont know how i can put the time and focus on another project :sob:

Haha :sweat_02:

I have a ton of different ideas. For that reason I have mutiple comics. It's always been like this, so I doubt it will change.

I'm one of those who write stories of no more than 20 to 25 chapters, I like my current comic, I can't deny it, I love it, without it, and it's not to seem self-centered, I wouldn't have met so many people in common, I wouldn't have made friends, and would not have learned from others.

But once I finish it, I want to post more different stories. It's a BL, maybe a comedy or a more mature series. I have many stories written and I just need to "polish" them.

I'd really love to, tbh! I have tons and tons of stories in my mind and I'd love to produce them all! The only problem is that my current project will be a veeeery long one and I personally don't know if I'll ever manage to finish it. At the moment; I'm getting very invested in sci-fi and thrillers, so I'm constantly brainstorming about an old series I created in April of 2017. I worked on this series sporadically and wrote a few scripts here and there, but never fully managed to get it done. This one was meant to be shorter, but the concept was a little hard to pull out. I think I found a solution to the problem after many years, though.

Hm, might as well take stock of the comics I currently have planned:

Call to Action one-shot
God's World

Current ongoing series
bitwam

Set in my lore-heavy fantasy world
After the World Was Saved
Golden Child

Random near-future-ish GL
Internet of Things

bitwam 'DLCs'
The Creator
Dolly's Route

Heck if I know whether I'll continue to make more and more comics after these; if I become taken with new ideas, cool, if not, I'm perfectly okay with that as well :] In fact, I might prefer not falling in love with any more new ideas when I'm old and fear dying with unfinished business :'D

Finish a comic? I think you mean, do multiple comics at once. XD

Exactly  who really "finishes" a comic?

100% making another story when I'm done with The Changeling's Sister.
TCS was actually a "little practice project" I started to test if I even COULD make a comis and keep it up - Its now running on its 7th year...

My 'actual' project is a story I too have been carrying with me since I was 12.
I wanted to make a lovestory, and I knew it would be fantasy, so I had to make a world for the characters to live in, and then it just snowballed to probably 3 arcs and a spinoff with their children, and I haven't even started the story yet >.<

Gosh I'm looking forward to paste this place in art of them! >:3

At minimum I have two comics going at once, at most I do three.
I don't keep a consistent release schedule though, I had to do that for my sanity.

For sure!

I'm one of those creators who gets restless if they're not creating- and since I was about nine or ten, I've never not had an ongoing project- be it a comic, video game, interactive story, or novel. My current story is huge, but it'll end someday one way or another and then I'll move on to something else.

I have two other story ideas I'm pretty excited about that could work in a novel or comic format, but it's difficult for me to work on multiple things at once, so they'll likely sit on the back burner for a few more years (at least) before I pick them up again...

Or maybe I'll come up with new ideas that appeal to me more as I get older, get more life experience under my belt, and widen my perspective. I'm not as young as my baby face would suggest, but still pretty young lol. I think the older I get and the more I do, the more I'll be able (and will want) to write about.

I'm excited for the stories I'll tell in the future. I've got things to say, and I think I have potential to be good at it. :]

Nah, I am not waiting to finish this so I can work on the next thing. The comic I'm posting here will take years to finish.

I already work on smaller, 10-20 page comics on the side. And I have 2 graphic novels planned. One mini comic and one novel I do plan to pitch to publishers, because I can't achieve everything I want to do for free.

Most likely, yes. Especially if it catches on in any capacity. I have like a billion and one stories to tell.

One at a time. I won't give self-anticipation on that i may or may not work on in the future. Just happy I can keep working on the story I love.

I´m doing super short comics, I´m working on an 8 page comic right now and when
it is finished I will start the next one

Not really. I guess I sort of want to work on my current series and maybe branch out from it. I guess sort of making my own cinematic universe in a sense.

I guess I do have some ideas for other stuff but they are either mini series or something that might be better suited to a novel format. I do at one point want to make something for little kids that I could maybe get published but I haven't really thought of anything yet for that.

TBH If I were to finish Shapeshifter's Wife, I'd probably be done for a while. Been doing comics quite a lot the past few years with little return, and seeing how much shift there's been, even in the past few years towards making more and more content weekly for zero pay has been pretty disheartening. It really depends on what changes will take place in the industry, but at the moment I just don't see myself in it's future, which is sad but like...the current aggregate comic site model is not working for the type of stories I want to tell and the art style that I use. If there were a way I could spend less time while still doing it, I would, but it takes an aggressive amount of my time to get any viewers at all. Not even a few, I'm not asking to be famous or anything--but like any viewers at all.

I feel this with intense passion. I too have so many OCs that have grown with me and evolved over time, Most of the older ones from back in the day have been put into MM! BUT I still very much create other stories outside of my current comic that I would like to share.

I'm thinking for my next project after MM! I'll stick to short stories and one-offs that tell the stories of all the OCs made more recently. Whenever I have a dream or inspiring thought I type or write it out asap to translate it into a story later.

I really like doing Illustrated prose and the idea of a book/s filled with my short stories and illustrations making a sort of light novel anthology sounds really good to me and doable after spending years working on one comic. :purple_heart:

Hey everyone! How's it goi -- OH NO! I'VE DROPPED MY PICTURES! :confounded:

Siiiiigh. Oh well... at least you guys don't know it's for a sequel to That Stick Figure Isekai. DANG IT! I've done it again! :confounded: :confounded:
Groooooooan
Might as well leave the link to my current webcomic for people who're interested. Why does bad stuff ALWAYS happen to me?

I'm already working on another comic while working on my webcomic...my second title is a "print only" comic, meaning that I just create it to print and sell it at conventions shows and it can be bought/ordered online.

I also plan on making a comic for my Patreon as an exclusive project; once that one is done, I plan to sell digital copies of it and possibly print it to sell at cons.

ALSO also- working on a story for a spin-off from my webcomic once it ends. I'm super hyped to explore this character and to further develop them..!

Well... I work for two long term comics so I know I'll have work for a while, I'm currently finishing another one.
I don't think I'll work on anything personal, at least not something big, maybe some drawings and doodles, but once I have a bit more of free time guess I'll mostly do commissions.

While I like making comics, I personally don't like making my own comics xD

I actually work on my other story on the side when I'm lining or doing the lettering for my comic
most of the story was finished years ago but it's rough and I've been fixing it up little by little
so once my current story is done my bf and i can just hop straight into one of our other ones

i've got several stories/comics/projects that i'm planning so it's definitely not going to be a one and done situation for me

like outside of hellcats+hellhounds there's maybe...seven other story ideas??? that i'm planning on working on so yeah the brain machine gonna keep at it

Kinda, I have my main series that I intend to keep going for a long time and I have some side series' I want to do, I also already have a second series on here that I'm trying to get a buffer up for, as well as a third series with lots of random stories and a mini series that ties to my main series. I also plan on writing a few novelized series'. I have a comedy horror novel I really want to release on here but I haven't really gotten around to write it, but I already have all the plot points ready. So basically I have a commented series I plan to keep working hard on and I have so many ideas that I'm also going to pursue as well. My only real limit is my imagination.

This is an interesting question to me. I'm going to be working on my current story for a long time (it's looking like at least 10 years...), and I only have so much 'make comics' energy, so it's all going to that right now.

Energy aside, though, I deal with a lack of ideas. Well, that's not true. I deal with a lack of ideas that I can use. Part of what kept me from making my own comic for so long is that I have a tendency to love making my own OCs.... but then dump them into an existing fandom's world. So I have all of these awesome, dynamic, fun ideas for characters and stories... set in/inextricably linked to existing, copyrighted worlds.

This has been a long-term problem of mine-- I enjoy world-building, but it's daunting and exhausting, and other people are better at it. If I did another project in the future, I think I'd have to set it in a modern day setting, just so I didn't have to worry as much about the world-building.

hmm been thinkigng after i finish the first volumem and redoing older chapters and recoloring some i might start on another story its called wolfsbane a fantasy action story about a family runnign from toxic zombies with help from a werwolf

oh man, i hope to xD i have tons of stories i really love! but i'm also cognizant that i'm already in my mid-twenties- if i stick to the page-a-week schedule, i can only do so many of my stories justice, realistically speaking. i may try to work on adapting one of them into something like a VN or prose novel instead, but we'll see.

Still in you mid-twenties! STILL!
