So I recently found out I am pregnant. So that's cool but I am having serious problem drawing now. Drawing is my passion and my job so I'm trying to work around this but its becoming more and more difficult. Are there any others on here that have dealt with this?

Congratulations! That's so exciting!

Sorry - don't have anything helpful to say. Just wanted to tell you congrats!

Congrats!

Perhaps you're having a tough time drawing right now because it's on your mind and you can't focus?
I've never been pregnant before, but when I'd have stuff on my mind whether it's good or bad I had a very difficult time drawing. Might also be that your body is going through changes too.

Nope! Not me i only worry about the cats jumping all over me but congrats!!! smiley

First off, congrats! Second, I have heard of women becoming forgetful, clumsy and/or distracted while they're pregnant, so I don't see why it's impossible that fine motor skills might be affected too? There's a lot going on in there after all! Hopefully as you advance from term to term things improve.
Good luck!

OMG. When I was pregnant it was the worst time in my life to draw. I lacked focus, or felt sick, or was twitchy... or had to pee... or I was so tired... So yes. I feel this so much. The good news is, after baby pops out, all the weirdness goes away!! I got back into the groove after a few weeks. Once I realized I could nurse and draw at the same time it brought alot of relief.

Either way, stress is no good for the baby. If you can't focus on getting a page done, you shouldn't worry about it. Health and baby come first. smile

Thanks everyone for your support! Yeah my mind is scattered like dropped marbles and the constant queasiness isn't helping. Some times it feels like I forgot how to draw lol! I'm hoping it will be less difficult after the first trimester but I really have no clue what to expect of myself. :s

Congrats!

As the mom of two, I can tell you it is normal to feel like your mind is scattered. For me it didn't go back to normal right away. I used to teach art at 4 different schools. Each class was on a different project and I knew off the top of my head exactly where all the classes were, all the kids names (hundreds of kids) etc.. For awhile after I had my children, I was lucky to know what day I was on. Good news, it does mostly go back to normal, but I think each gal is different on how long that takes.

Sorry about the queasiness. That should go away after awhile. Maybe that will help you focus better.

Plus side, you can forget stuff and use it as an excuse. "Oh, ever since I got pregnant (or had kids) I'm lucky if I remember anything" wink

Congratulations! This kind of makes me nervous because I draw for a living and I plan on having children with my partner sometime soon! Not really sure how i'd weather with the scattered brain thing or feeling tired. I wish you the best of luck, I believe you can make it!

Congrats!

And there's no saying how it'll go, but you'll probably feel better once you're done wanting to throw up every 10 minutes. I'm actually at 8 months right now, and I've never drawn this much in my entire life. The freakin' annoying thing is that huge belly getting in the way on leaning on my desk. Grrrr.

But yes it's different for everyone. Even in the worst case, it'll be temporary...
