I'm looking to get back into making video content again for funsies, but not sure if I should separate my content to different channels.
Specifically, I'm looking to do artwork/animation, gameplay videos and media reviews.

A single channel would be easy to keep track of, and I could ensure regular content since I don't know if I can make stuff regularly enough to support multiple channels.

A multiple might be more appealing to audiences who want one kind of video but not others.
I know the sacred algorithm favours multiple channels now but who knows when that will change.

How do you absorb your media?
Do you like to keep your sub feed clear of videos you don't like, or is it not a problem?
I'm going to be posting on Ticktok too. Is there any other video hosting sites you use?

If you have a channel, feel free to link it below.

Multiple is the way to go. I've seen it done all the time

It's pretty common for people to have multiple channels, so I wouldn't call it "greedy." The only thing I would say is it gets more difficult to manage if you subdivide it too much... which is why I just post everything on the same channel and call it a day, lol.

That said, I technically have two channels. One for my brand (where I post stuff about my comic):

And one for everything else (gameplay videos, etc.):

depends on the creator for me.

for some folks i dont mind them having variety content channels with a clear specification (usually by thumbnail) whats art content or gaming or something else, plus it's concise and keeps things easy to find and follow plus you can easily put to use the playlist fature to organize things into their own little folders

but for others i do get into that space of "im only really interested in this kind of content and just wanna see that" it's very rare for me to feel or react like this though since most platforms let you chose if you want notifications for everything or just the stuff you're interested in and i tend to fall into the latter

there's also just picking whats most convenient for you to manage coz there's definitely such thing as too much and ive seen plenty of instances where splitting things into separate channels/pages/accounts just led to some of them going dead or all of them because there weren't consistent updates between

personally i'd like to branch into the same two platforms but i think for convenience sake would likely keep things to one channel simply because having to manage just different social media pages over the past few years has been tiring and i can't imagine trying to spread myself much further

Multiple channels is better when it´s not too much work for you

No, it's not greedy. It allows one to cater to audiences with different tastes without annoying some subscribers with content that turns them off. It allows a creator to experiment & branch out, again without annoying loyal followers with known, but different, preferences.

I have seen some creators split their channels by content. So they have a main channel, let’s play channel, and maybe one for clips or archive streams. Maybe someone who likes the main channel might not be interested in the other stuff.

I do think it’s greedy when it’s a content farm. Like the 5 Minute Crafts and a lot of similar channels were owned by the same people. Same with a lot of those My Story Animated channels. It’s just slop. Tho I doubt that is what you have planned for your content.

I’d stick with a single channel if you’re unsure about posting regularly—it’s easier to manage and build an audience that way. You can use playlists to keep your content organized. Personally, I don’t mind a mix of content as long as I can filter what I’m interested in. For video hosting, besides TikTok, YouTube is great for reach, and Vimeo is good for a more professional touch.
