Well I do have my own website, but not a lot of views go there. I'm not advertising my comic all over the internet like I should. Instead it's my home base. It's clean, shows the strip, my bio & other little illustrations I've done (it's sparse, since my art school projects aren't really "portfolio-worthy").
As for how I reached 1k subscribers... I really don't know how to answer that. I've been making Berds & Nerds for a little over a year with my writer, and only began posting on Tapastic in April? I've posted on the days I've promised, and have thankfully made the strip better. So it's possible that the subscribers came because of consistency, and decent strips?
In all honesty though, I give credit to Sozo, since Berds & Nerds was their brainchild, and I helped to develop it. Thankfully the chemistry we have when creating strips is phenomenal, and while I am basically creating the strips, Sozo is responsible for the writing & jokes. Now I just need to never miss my Mon/Thurs deadline, or else Berds & Nerds dies, literally.
