@emmaemeh2011 - Invitation To the Bus of Love

Thoughts while reading

  • “The bus of love” huh? I can’t be the only one thinking it also goes by another name. Something with ducks and trucks.

  • Oh god it’s the corporate mandated format. Have I ever told you how much I loathe the long strip format these sites “recommend”? But I’m not the only one who dunks on this format so I won’t expand on my hate.

  • Crap. I laughed.

  • Skipping…

  • She has a hearing aid? Would’ve been nice If I got to see it first.

Overall thoughts

Your typical slice of life teen drama. And I don’t have much to say wouldn’t be nitpicking. Not a lot of things happen which is typical in these kinds of SoL. We’re probably in the phase where we meet the whole cast and you need to set them apart. Sure that’s great but I’ve been on this ride before. It's going to take a minimum of 120 chapters. Then they're gonna start a band.

With one exception (less backstabby characters) it’s very 'by the numbers' and 'more of the same'. Which means it’s going to do great. I see you’re going for that Webtoon dosh!

I still didn’t get to see the Duck Truck!

This series overall feels more like a stepping stone for you than anything else, even though you don’t see it like that.

@skicoak - Oddly Vanilla.

Unfortunately can't nitpick or asses anthologies well. Art-style varies so does tone, humor and well..everything.

But what I can gather is that you all are fans of Tales From the Crypt. As I found it common up until now Synopsis doesn't attract me at all. In this specific case it's that I need the tiniest bit of direction about some themes or what to generally expect from the anthology.
In some works the speech bubbles and again, typeface, ruin the overall presentation. I see an ever better noir aesthetic complete with shadows get dragged down by a vector and an inappropriate font.

The cover doesn't seem very representative.

I also landed on the story where Kavinsky (odd look version) swings a silver bat.

And I'll leave this here:

Thanks for your time :smiley:
No, you actually got that right , it's a stepping stone for me .
I started a fantasy series before but my computer crashed and lost most of its material so I'm doing something easier (ish) this time;
Haha , the Duck Truck will appear later

I appreciate what your doing here!

I will post my comic if you ever get that far down the line XD

Roast me, bro.

I'm down for your review here is the link below?

I appreciate you taking the time. Thank you for your thoughts.

PS: Not Kavinsky, not at all. Lol.

@Darth_Biomech - Leaving the cradle

I've already checked your comic on my own a while ago while browsing the category I'm writing in. So I'm going to leave you a very disappointing overview instead.

There's not much I can tell on the surface except that you like Mordin. And the Citadel. A lot. Your format doesn't fit the tapas and webtoon requirement but I consider that a good thing. Something you realized, since it looks like you put down the effort for your site.

You also tend to improve as you go in categories other than art.

What strikes me is that you rely on your knowledge of other media a lot. I don't mean references. I mean execution, layout, interior design and story beats. And for someone just as knowledgeable will come off as cliché.

Intro quotes from a dead person are overplayed.

You need to shill your comic more, especially since it already has a lot of content.

And I strongly disagree. I love space babes!

I always pick Miranda. Always!

Citadel, I sort of can see (It's the centrifugal gravity thing, yes?), but... Mordin? I've always was more of a Legion and Tali guy. =D
Thanks!

ROAST ME !!!

I just finished chapter 2, so there's some stuff to go on. I'm switching to webtoons style after this because i feel like the traditional comic style is a bit too hard for me to work with in terms of pacing. (pls let me know what you think of pacing!)

Down for a roast session

you can review mine if you want

This is something I am totally not used to, but I do want some reviews for my comic so let's go!

9 days later

https://tapas.io/series/King-of-Roo1

This is the story title. It's a fantasy epic that will (God Willing) Span about 5 books. Check it out, I have a sample up already.

King of Roo.

After a deadly civil war between two of the Kingdom's Districts which resulted in the death of the King, the Kingdom laid down heavy sanctions upon its people.
8 years later, these sanctions prove to be too much as violent tensions spring up across all three districts. The climate becomes as deadly as the war torn era even giving rise to an old threat, the Titan Cult.
They lurk in the shadows of the volatile atmosphere plotting to destroy the very foundation of the Kingdom which they once called home.
The only thing in their way is Prince Elias. The only son of the late King who steps outside of his privileged life for the first time to bring unity to his feuding kingdom.

Finally! A review that can be brutally honest! I'm sold! Here's mine:
It's a Romance/Supernatural I REALLY hope you like it!

I am curious about a constructive criticism, so I left my little project :slight_smile:
