I would have to agree, your comic is tamed. I've seen some crazy NSFW comics with very graphic sex, most of which is on drunk duck or tumblr I think because of the age restriction on them. I draw some NSFW comics which are yaoi full graphic however one I do blurring on and the other I edit to not feature it'. Still I rate it at 16+ the yaoi is not in every chapter though it more plot then sex. And mainly I use the tag for that and if there is blood or what not. I think taptastic is light sex and blood and cursing .
I'll post the link to the profile where they afte listed.

But I think there are a lot of NSFW comics but not always under sex it maybe under cursing and blood. Or violence.
My comic Life of an Aspie165 thought not an NSFW comic by nature does none the less straddle the line between PG-13 and R rated. Like some of the stuff that comes out of the aspie's mouth could be considered the thing that pushes the envelope on what I can get away with in a PG-13 comic. Think of it like your average prime time animated sitcom. Obviously words like shit and fuck tend to get censored, but they are still spoken regardless.
Sex Ghost1.1k is a very raunchy series. We got informed of its existence by a reader. It's about a priest having sexytime with a ghost. Yes.
Btw, we have a new series that's got a rather racy opening scene, titled Coven404. It's created by the other half of our team, hence the difference in art style and theme.
Like stated above, your comic is actually pretty easy going, it could pass for PG1322.
You could always try posting on Comicfury230, and TheDuckWebcomics351, they both allow adult material if you don't feel as safe posting your comic here. I can't say I haven't seen NSFW material that is less popular myself, there's a lot of porn comics/artists out there that make pretty decent money, it just depends on where you post it. Tapastic I can definitely say is less into adult work than, say, Smackjeeves or Tumblr.
To get back on topic, I dabble in NSFW material myself. Mostly my webcomic114 which I'd consider 'Mature' due to violence, nudity, drug use, and all that good stuff. Honestly, I think I made the comic as a sort of exercise in anti-censorship. I grew up on violent, gory horror media, and seeing some people wanting to take down stuff just because it's problematic bothers me. I may be a creepy feminist, but I also believe offensive material has a right to exist, like... freedom of creation, man!
Also I wanted to work with a subject that's normally romantcized, and make it more practical, hopefully being somewhat respectful in the process. It's an enjoyable challenge.
I've added another of my NSFW comics : Horn https://tapastic.com/episode/371584?comment_id=2053723614
And yeah, my comic Filjoshi really is pretty tame, but there's no telling about the rules over here, they could change at a moment's notice so I'm trying to err on the side of caution and tag anything remotely sexual as mature.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) or you can always private message--- //punched
TBH I can't see my series will ever contain NSFW material like sex scene, but even if I do have it, I think it will just be some extra stuffs that doesn't change much of the plot that people can possibly find it and read it on my DA... IF I CAN EVEN DO R18 that sounds like a real challenge jfc
I draw a couple NSFW boy's love comics as well. One has already had a censored sex scene and will have some future gore ( Devour )110 and the other is also gonna have some boning every now and again ( Life Less Ordinary ).98
As for why I draw them, eh, I grew up reading them so they're the first type of story to come to mind. Looking back most weren't very good though so I just want to do it well. I'm sure people will argue that sex isn't necessary to show, but if it isn't every few pages and is actually a positive representation or actually relevant to the story than I don't see a reason why I shouldn't.
I would kinda disagree with this, but thinking about it I guess what would be considered "vulnerable" or a "true connection" depends on the character and readers. Given that vulnerability can technically mean anything from opening up emotionally, to showing affection, or having sex. This also goes for a "true connection" in a relationship, seeing as some people are less or more sexual than others, so it all depends on the type of character you create. Some people would find the simple act of showing affection to someone a bigger deal than sleeping with them, if they're the type to sleep around but don't know how to have a meaningful relationship.
Personally I don't think sex scenes are necessary unless it's mindless porn, but I can't relate to that since I find sex to be superficial. So really, I'm not the target audience. I suppose it's just as important as any other way of showing vulnerability and connection though, since people experience those things differently, and there's no one way of representing it. I'm just sick of seeing it as the ultimatum to a "healthy relationship".
-vents butthurt as I draw a comic with sex in it-
Oh yeah! I'm totally not trying to tell people what to do with their work, I 100% support freedom to create what you want. This is more of an analysis thing, mixed with bitching about the over-saturation of sex=love in media.
No worries, I think I can see where you're coming from. Sex definitely isn't the ultimate achievement of a relationship. Just like the Disney princess wedding shouldn't ultimately guarantee a happily ever after, neither should having sex magically guarantee a perfect relationship. And certainly not every set of characters is going to show their love for each other in the same way.
I'm working on a NSFW for Comic Cambion91 . It is NSFW for violence and man on man sexual situations, though the violence has definitely outnumbered the sex so far.
Why am I writing NSFW? I guess I feel its a little more real? My characters live in a medieval/Game of Thrones sort of setting. While my story isn't nearly as brutal, it simply wasn't a great time to be alive and people could get away with violence much more easily.
Maybe this is common for authors but I enjoy putting my characters through hell and seeing how it changes them. I wanted to explore how my characters are effected by growing up in this world.
As for the sex, well I grew up reading BL so naturally I wanted to try my hand at writing one. I also felt that there weren't enough of them that had any depth. The characters fall in love over the course of the story and then they bone and sometimes there's a little superficial drama. Without getting into details, since I am far from tackling this in the comic itself, I want to tackle subjects like abuse, the strains on a relationship when partners have a different take on how important sex is, and also asexuality.
Will I achieve all this? Well, we'll just have to find out. XD
I'm no stranger to NSFW, and my series that has/will have it is Heavy Horns154. I won't get too explicit in it, since it still has to abide by Tap's rules, so I'll probably save the juicy stuff for Patreon supporters. And the tag will be for sex, because I like drawing that more than gore, lol.
I wouldn't say NSFW is less popular, just not as accessible. I mean, look at the explosion of BL on all comic platform sites. There are some thirsty people out there, and here I am providing another beverage. xD If anything, I think there's a high demand for it.
I decided to venture into male x male romances because the ones I've read were all pretty shitty, save for a few shining exceptions. Plus I like drawing guys and I think I'm pretty good at it.
