The font we're using for the forum. It's really hard to read. Please do something about it! I have to hunch over the desk and lean closer to read it. I do not need to do this on any other website I visit.

Could you make it as big as it is on the main site (with the comics)? And/or use a different font that's easier to read?

I totally agree on this (I think I've mentioned it on this forum before, but can't remember where/when). While I can zoom in on my screen to make it bigger, it's very inconvenient, and something I never have to do on any other website. Please increase the font size or use a different font? blush

It's a bit surprising actually. Usually with mobile-friendly websites, the font is too big. (When viewed from a computer that is)

I can read the forums without zooming in, but I would nonetheless welcome a more legible font/size.

Also would be rad if it's a font where bolding is actually visible!

Which browser are you using? I can actually view the bold quite fine from Firefox (on Vista) but I know that different browsers have different ways of displaying the fonts. There are differences between different OSs too.

I don't know, I can read the font perfectly (and see the bold words fine).. this has got to be a browser thing. That being said, if half of us can't read it, it's probably not a good font.

I don't think it's really the font but how the page is displayed on the forums actually.

You're right, it's way more visible in Firefox. (I don't know if it's my retina display or what but YIKES it looks awful there?)

but, y'know, retina displays ruin everything so it might just be that. I don't usually touch FF so I don't know what kind of preferences it has set.

I'm using Chrome on a Macbook Pro on OS X, this is what I normally see:

Wow, the bolding doesn't show at all in your case! It reads just fine on Safari. But it's not a very common font, maybe that could be (at least part of) the reason it acts differently on different browsers? It's not a particularly web-friendly font, compared to for instance Helvetica or Trebuchet MS.

While I'm perfectly able to read the text on the forum as it is, I've noticed that I more and more often leave a thread that I'm actually interested in reading and participating in, just because my eyes get tired very quickly. And zooming in shouldn't feel like a huge inconvenience, but it does when I never have to do it elsewhere, so I never bother, I just leave the forum instead :/

But again - simply increasing the size would be very helpful.

For what it's worth, font changing is out of my modding powers U_U;

That is pretty strange how the font is different depending on your browser. I use Firefox so it hasn't been terrible for me either, but I feel for you guys on other browsers ♥

I will look into this.

In the mean time you can zoom in using the control and plus sign button or (command and plus sign button) on the keyboard. Sorry about that!

Honestly, I like the font and the spacing between lines (also, what's the name of this font?). If the problem is on reading big chunks of text, it could be changed for a bodoni-like font, but if this is to be kept sans serif, well, the current one is really good, in my opinion.

Or maybe there could be a feature that'd allow users to change the font they see on the forum without making the change for everyone else.

I asked someone about this in another thread, if I remember correctly it's called Function Pro Book.

You can use your own fonts with some basic CSS and this browser extension: https://userstyles.org/ (look for the links to Stylish). Works well on here and any website where you want to override the font (ie. reddit).

Here's my view of the forum with my own:

This is the CSS I use to change it (just replace Arial with whatever font you like):

body, #wmd-input{
 font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;
}
