Like the title says, my comic POW! Right in the Nostalgia needs your nostalgia!

What do I mean? I mean ideas for future comics!

What makes you guys and gals nostalgic? Is it a certain video game? A movie? A food or drink? Maybe even smells or sights?

Anything that makes you nostalgic, bring it up here.

If your nostalgia interests me (and that I can make a comic out of it), I will be sure to mention your name as the person who came up with the idea in the comic page(s) it is featured in.

...So.... What makes YOU nostalgic?

busted, mcfly, and scouting for girls make me nostalgic for my childhood. the only music i used to have was an ipod shuffle full of whatever was left on my grandparents computer, mostly left by my half brother, and id play and replay these few songs by those bands. when i was 14 and discovered piracy they were the first bands i downloaded. barely listen to em now.

meanwhile swet shop boys and the estates around east london make me nostalgic for the time i spent last year working / studying at a theatre in barking. it was a really horrible time in so many ways, so its weird going back sometimes.

You mmmaaay have already covered this but, yo, I have a very strong nostalgia for changing to channel 03 on the tv so that you could play video games (stateside). While switching stations, the staticky, rough shot of the game's title cards on the channels near it was ridiculously exciting if you'd already powered the system on.

But yeah, even though that was exciting, input functions have changed so much, and made it way, way easier to just power on a console, blessings to hdmi. X]

I think a lot of things to do with food/cooking brings nostalgia for a lot of people. I remember reading somewhere that scents are particularly conducive for this type of stuff, although I wouldn't be able to cite my sources atm.

There's a couple of TV Series I watched as a kid that really gets the nostalgia train going. A lot of anime aimed at selling toys and video games (Beyblade, Battle B-Daman, Bakugan, Sonic X, Kirby of the Stars/Kirby: Right Back at Ya!); other anime popular in the west in the early 2000's (Berserk, Inuyasha); some Chinese cartoons too (Blue Cat, Black Cat Police Chief).

For a more specific thing, there's a certain (and pretty gross) way that I eat baozi and mung-bean congee together that makes me feel nostalgic, because it was my grandfather who gave me the idea to do so--I don't get to see my maternal side of the family often (we've gone back to the homeland only once in the past 12 years due to finances/timing) but we are still very close, and every time somebody questions me on my weird eating style I start to miss a home that I barely remember in China.

When I was a kid they used to sell yoohoos in the vending machines in school. by the time I was in high school though everything became either fruit juice or a soda that says zero. Now every time I look at a yoohoo. I think back to when I was a kid that would buy 3 at once just to drink for in the morning, at lunch, and on the way home.

Oh man, I totally remember flipping to channel 3 to watch VHS tapes! I also had a device that was specifically for rewinding tapes, haha. I wonder how many people had those.

You've probably already talked about Pokemon, but as far as video games go Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire are by far the most nostalgic things for me. I also still have my e-reader, the accessory for the GBA that you could slide cards in to unlock games and stuff. A lot of Pokemon cards were scan-able, and I think there were also Animal Crossing cards and a bunch of other random stuff. It's not super exciting in hindsight, but I had fun with it.

Speaking of Pokemon cards, I loved collecting those and Yugioh cards. And I always watched both the shows after school.

Oh, I also had a sizable collection of Beanie Babies, in true 90's kid fashion.

Pow! Right in the Nostalgia is a super fun comic, I hope you get lots of great ideas!

90s cartoons are nostalgic for me, especially old school Pokémon and Powerpuff Girls. I always had a soft spot for the goofy 90s commercials as well, haha.

I played a lot of video games growing up. I was a pretty big Nintendo nerd as a kid, so I played a lot of N64 and Gamecube, but there were some Playstation games I really enjoyed as well. The Spyro series, for example, was one of my favorites.

I also have fond memories of dialup internet. :stuck_out_tongue:
"Mom, can I use the internet?"
"I dunno, it'll tie up the phone line"

I get nostalgic when I meet up with friends from elementary school that I haven't seen in ages

W.i.t.c.h., Winx Club, and the Danish christmas calendar Pyrus.

... yeah, probably not things to make comic strips about.

Let me see...... Back in my days we only had one computer in the house, and we had to take turns with my brothers. Yoshy's island makes me nostalgic. and playing Mario 1,2 and 3, of course. Any Disney movie from the nineties.

I guess the late 90s and early 2000s internet. Like the dial up noise and those weird ads that were interactive.

Arizona makes me very nostalgic. I used to live there but my family moved away when I was 10. I've been all over the state.

  • I remember once taking a train ride once and they had these cowboy reactors and it was snowing.
  • My grandma had a cabin which we went to in thee summer. It was in a more forested area and right next to a golf course.
  • My grandparents lived near an Indian Reservation and my grandparents attended a small church on the reservation and they would bring me and my siblings along when we visited. My grandma played the organ in the church
  • A lot of what people said on here.
  • Also those VHS Tape rewinders that were sold in different shapes. I remember my grandmother had one that shaped like a car and I thought it was the coolest thing!
  • 90's/2000's Nickolodeon, Cartoon Network & ABC family: Cow & Chicken, Dexter's Lab, Are you Afraid of the Dark, Big Wolf on Campus, and so many more.
  • Toonami!
  • Saturday morning cartoons
  • Disney Afternoon cartoons (Gargoyles, Ducktales, TaleSpin, Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers, etc...)
  • Kool-Aid plastic bottles (very cheaply made and were so sugary, they usually came in packs of 4)
  • Blueberry Pop-tarts (just because I remember the commercials were everywhere to promote it)
  • Anime you had to REALLY channel surf to try to find: Shaman King, Beyblade, Monster Rancher, Digimon, Shinzo, etc...

  • Cartoon Marathons (And I remember they would go full out for these! They would have small skits and basic animation of characters going through their own short in between the commercials and the actual episodes of the marathon)

  • Running plots between cereal commercials.
  • 90's/2000's toys: Sock 'em boppers, Bop It, Easy Bake Oven, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Sega, Roller-shoes.
  • RANDY SAVAGE "SNAP INTO A SLIM-JIM!"

....just realized a lot of mine were pop culture or consumerism products. the tv was my only friend back in the day ;w;

Jurassic Park was my jam, loved that movie.

Pokemon was another huge one.

Then I loved plenty of older cartoons, I would recommend stuff like Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Wow. Lots of stuff here I'll have to look through. Thank you everything that has participated here. Keep your nostalgia coming if you have it! XD
