I think my favorite character in Mallory Bash is Ava. She's wild, mysterious, and has a lot of depth. The only people who currently even know about her in the comic are Isaac and Cyrus--and now Odran. The readers know about as much as Isaac does, which is that Ava came out of nowhere from somewhere in Brookwood Forest.

She has some connection to the Dreaming Tree and to the Milk Carton Kids as their old leader, according to Animus, and she seems to have some strange reaction to questions about her parents. She's avoidant of serious topics unless she has no choice but to involve herself, and she's adamant about not letting Mallory, specifically, see her. Why?

The character originally was created as a doodle of someone I went to college with, because she had this wild personality that was begging to be cartooned. But it wasn't long before I fell in love with what this character could be, and the backstory and connection to the Dreaming Tree just naturally formed. It was a darling I couldn't bear to kill, so Ava was born--and everyone seems to be just as smitten with her as I am.

For fun, here's the first drawing I did of her:

I call these six dummies the Accidental God Squad; they're six twenty somethings who accidentally get blasted through space and time to a version of ancient Greece. Each of them is gonna slowly turn into one of the Greek gods (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Demeter, Hestia and Hera) - and they're colour coordinated lol. Either way it's fun writing those characters as normal people who don't have to adhere to the stock personas that they've been kind of assigned through history.

I wish I had art to share but I am a humble novelist devoid of artistic talent.
I do have a steampunk robot animated through arcane science. Here's my description of Mr. Gears!

"Everything from the soft blue glow of Gears optics to the low ticks and whirrs of his moving parts utterly astounded Armitage. Gears pulled off his gloves to expose the metal hinged fingers and plated palms. His face was smooth; no orifice broke the surface of the faceplate. His voice came from his throat and the same arcane symbols that adorned Glamour Engine tattooed his metal casing."

Haha, thanks, they were very fun to come up with and I'd be plenty happy if you check the comic out! I update every Monday so even once you've caught up theres more coming!

@Zyephen That's awesome! Just try not to overwork yourself or you'll get burnt out. That's kinda how I was initially with all my ideas that I wanted to do.

@DavidPerry I love her design, it's so cute! And I can relate to creating a character for fun that I feel like has potential and could be used in some story. So that's cool!

Probably Jade! She's just really fun for me to draw, and has been around as a character for sooooooooo long in backlogs. She's one of the main protagonists of my comic, so luckily I get the excuse to draw her a lot.
She's also fun for me to write because she's just. Kind of dumb? And impulsive? But nice? I'm a huge fan of big dumb stupid people as main characters, so that's kind of cause and effect and such.

Meet Roman and Leandros! They're the main characters of my new novel, Fractured Magic, but they've been in my head for a while! Leandros hasn't changed much, but Roman started as a horrible doctor who-Aragorn cross invented by my high school mind (and, uh, his name isn't "Derek Longsword" anymore, so that's definitely an improvement...)

This is Sandra, a small-time singer, who recently went back to her hometown due to work-related problems. She's 35 years old and is a very outgoing, sexy lady. Due to her family background, she has some anxiety issues around men who try to come on hard to her.

Will's a school counselor in a small town. He's in his early 40s but maintains his boyish looks. He's a mild guy who's very observant. He tends to be the peacekeeper or mediator in situations and prefers to resolve conflict with words.

If you're interested in them, do check out my series Devil's Triangle!

Here's a character I'll post because I want to start the comic but like I just don't have the time and I need to get it out of my system.

his name is Djali and he runs a monster bakery. He doesn't have human ears, and he keeps his hair long to hide the fact he's got long floppy ears like a basset hound.

Mick – The team manager

Full name: Miguel Legato

Summary: Mick is a middle-aged man with an interdimensional starship and the legal rights to fill a few slots in the Crash Championship tournament, but no fighters to fill the slots. The story begins as he tries to recruit some fighters to make some money.

Appearance: Mick is a slightly overweight 45-year-old man, mostly bald, with a pencil thin mustache. He speaks with a nasal tone. He always appears happy and enthusiastic.

Background: A wheeler and dealer. The last year was bad for him. He lost all of his fighters and has also worked up a large amount of debt. He needs to make money this year or else he is going to lose everything.

Personality: Mick is enthusiastic about everything he does and drives the early part of the story with his joyful eagerness. He has a crush on all of the women. He has little concern about the feelings of the inhabitants of the universes, he just makes things happen that he wants to happen.

Mick can be shortsighted and have his head in the clouds.

When Mick complains about things, it often is to make light of the situation in the sense that "this too shall pass", and he views the problem as an entertaining distraction rather than anything to worry about.

Like most dimension splitters, Mick has no respect for life. He sees everyone as a plaything, and he will destroy entire planets or universes if it suits him. This horrifies people from most dimensions but it's normal where he's from.

Fighting style: Mick prefers to dominate a fight with superior technology or to avoid a fight entirely.

Clothing: Mick's usual clothing is casual wear. He might wear a pocketless T-shirt and vest, or a sweater. A T-shirt and cargo shorts combo might be his usual style. His color scheme is blue and tan.

Posted this little dude before, but have been doing some more work on him.

Bruno Brancaleone is the son of two of the dumbest people to ever scrape together a billion dollars. He holds the doubtful honor of being the most kidnapped kid in the world, on account of his dumbass parents always paying the ransom before even calling the cops.
Sick of being a walking blank check for every criminal with a cashflow problem, and not wanting to risk the lives of bodyguards, Bruno overcame his kind and timid nature and found a better use for his parent's cash : Hiring every hand-to-hand combat expert in the world as his private tutor.
He can now often be found kicking seven shades of shit out of everyone who even looks at him funny, while profusely apologising for it at the same time.

@snowy I love the concept behind this. If you're already posting episodes, I'd like to give it a read!

which one to chose?
I've gone with my newest- Wêxn
I don't think I'll get to work on the story as I have so many already.
I still want to do the character designs and world building as exercise
This story is my way of working trough my issues of injuring my drawing hand and the situation I was in at time and learning to draw with my other hand which took way too long. This character I'm building but she's a strong woman who has gone through hardships but acts as a life guide to the main character later on. I'm not sure where to go from there but since it's not a story I'm working on right now there's no rush.

Aw thanks ! Bruno is scheduled to appear in the third arc of my comic. If people like him, he might get his own series.

Sure...you know what? I'll drop this guy. He hasn't shown up in the comic yet, but has showed up in a few RP's I've done.

The Ultra.

This 'hero' and I use the term lightly, is in his early 30s and is one of the most arrogant people you could ever meet.

In Dragon Sparking, there will be a group of superhero characters known as the Strike Force. And The Ultra stands at the top. He has the unique distinction of being the strongest mortal in the main DS universe.

His game is using his power to gain fame and attention. In fact all of the Strike Force is a competition for these 'heros' to gain as many followers as they can. And The Ultra milks it all, using his appearance and star power to be the most popular 'hero' of them all.

Those little things around him are drone cameras. All of the Strike Force have them, and they are used to make live feeds of the SF heros doing heroic feats and... whatever else makes them more accessible and interesting to the public.

His ego and desire for attention is unmatched, and he'll do anything to stay on top of the Strike Force rankings.

He and Rip...are destined for a clash at some point.
