Ish... Going back and looking at my old art really makes me appreciate how far I've come. I don't have very many "redraws" but I can show how far I've come.

I'm upset I deleted a lot of my old work but heres one of my characters i've been drawing for well over 10 years:

Arg this will be embarrassing for me but, hahah my comic really IS the best measure of my digital progress. I was primarily a traditional artist up until 2013 when I really started up with digital. (It also didn't help that, at the time, I had a broken tablet so, that wasn't fun. Often I'd have to finish my work using the touch pad on my laptop.)

I know that last one is in a bit of a different style but it's the best example of 2017 that isn't a comic page, haha. And just to show you how hard it was for me to acclimate to digital, here is a drawing I made in my notebook in 2013:

Yeah, my digital stuff seriously took me forever to get closer to the style I have IRL and I'm still not there yet. I've got a lot of improving to do, for sure. XD

Ooh, cool topic. I've done this a few times, and it's seemed to be consistently (not on purpose, I just pick old stuff) stuff from 2015. I could just go with the whole "here's some stuff I drew then and here's some stuff I draw now" but I think drawing the same thing makes the difference a lot more obvious.

Ah I've recently put old art and new art of my main characters side by side and it is indeed satisfying to see! Not sure when each of the old ones was drawn, but it was @ 2015 and earlier!

honestly starting a comic helped me get out of my art comfort zone alot more than i could on my own and its been a really fun challenge so far.

Same! Starting a comic was the best thing I could have ever done for my art! It really makes you draw stuff you never would have, and you're also drawing more often than before (at least in my case). Your art looks great!

My art has changed a bunch in under a year - I'm still trying to figure out and hammer down digital inking/coloring.

Originally i drew Henri like this but later realized i needed to make a design that was easier for a comic.

So i started redrawing the face.

I kept fiddling with emotions until i finally reached a face and look that said, "?"

So i redrew the face one more time and applied what i had learned.

the evolution is AMAZING I can see tinges of your current style in your older work. it's really cool!
