Has anyone used Sketch Up for creating backgrounds and if not what method do you use for creating background imagery?

I used sketchup, the sims, homedesign 3d and sweethome 3d.
I mostly use the last 2 because they are the easiest for me to use. The camera options in sweethome 3d are the best
for me. Sketchup and blender are probably the most professional apps for backgrounds but they don´t work for me personally

What I do is when I start a scene I draw out the background for a couple panels/pages. If the characters haven't moved locations in a bit, I simplfy the backgrounds while and the camera is closer to the characters as they converse. However, if they DO move I draw out the background a few times to show the readers that they're at a different spot or space.
In THIS case, I have a gradiant of the primary background colours to immitate a "blur" effect from the camera's focus on closer objects.

I started using Tindercad8. It's browser based and pretty easy to use.
I have a scene in my comic in a lunchroom so I made a table to I don't have to freehand it.

I am definitely going to have to check all of these out. I wasn't sure if I want to pull the trigger on Sketch Up with the yearly fee if it wasn't the best program.

I literally just started using Clip Studio Assets!! Well I had used a few like brushes but I didn't know there were so many!! I love it!! :sob::heart:

I use Homestyler3 for my interiors! It takes a little getting used to, but it's browser-based. I have my characters' entire house modeled.

I began using Blender for several interior backgrounds, and use Krita to blend them. I like using Blender for its versatility and it helped me design a lot of furniture and architecture, but there’s a learning curve and I learned a lot while making the latest and next episodes!

The current episode of my webtoon has several 3D rendered backgrounds, and I’ve been trying different techniques in that episode and the next one about how to blend them in to better fit with the art style.

Most of them in the latest episode were rendered with Freestyle enabled, which automatically adds lineart to the renders. The staircase panel used it, but I manually drew part of the lineart for the panel above it.

I couldn’t always figure out how to get consistent results or the exact results I wanted. For the next episode, I’ve just been manually drawing the lineart over the renders and painting over the shading to more closely fit.
