Yes i would like to know this as well, i am from jamaica and it would be difficult for me to move.

@craftynessi:

This depends on a number of factors including contract negotiation + creator availability + logistics. Ideally, the program would start end of September or early October for most people, but we are flexible. Uprooting is also not necessary if you are unable to. Regarding number of creators, we'd rather not commit to a concrete number, but we're looking at between ~3-5 to start.

@pattywakos: Yes! Make sure to include all relevant info.

@insanepotatochild: There's always a chance!

@isaacfriedman: We are waiting for the submission deadline to hit before judging and sending results. Please be patient!

@corymills27: Remote work is an option.

I'm currently working on a webcomic on tapastic. what layout would you prefer for me to send? My comic in a pdf file, a link to the comic or just the artwork?

Oh, sorry, didn't mean to sound impatient, I was just curious since I'd gotten an auto-response email saying I'd get a reply in a week. Though I knew this was a different case so the timeline would be a bit different. Also, I'm kinda worried that in my email I implied that I would be unavailable during the ideal timeframe, and I was wondering what the best way to clear that up would be. I'll be done with my current job in December, but I'm afraid I may have implied I'd be unavailable for even longer than that.

Oh yes, the auto-response was meant for normal submissions and was never de-activated until a while into the incubator submissions. Sorry about that! Whether or not a creator is available in our preferred time frame, we'll try to be flexible if their work is strong!

So to clarify, the Incubator is for premium authors? I'm just not wanting to misunderstand.

The incubator is for comic creators/writer + comic duos, not necessarily already publishing on Tapas.

The novels chosen to adapt into comics are chosen only from our pool of premium authors by Tapas staff.

I sent in my application yesterday I have been waiting for something like this for months now I am a writer but I have artists that are more than happy to work full time on my projects and having an editor and other creators around to assist in feedback would be amazing. I dedicate almost all my free time to comics. I have wanted to be a full time comic creator since I started more than 3 years ago.

Good luck to all who applied and I hope this program kicks off with success!

Wow, this is honestly such an amazing opportunity .3. One I've especially been looking forward to. Unfortunately, it's about a year too early unu

Hopefully it goes well, and you do it all again next year! o3o

Not sure if it was mentioned here, but can we submit story ideas already being posted on Tapas? I started my most developed story but I haven't made it all the way through the prologue.

Also, can we submit multiple original stories? I've written a few comics but haven't started drawing them yet.

Hi lefrafra,

We'd really prefer original stories that aren't published yet, but since your story sounds relatively new, I don't think it would hurt to send it in. You can absolutely submit multiple ideas, just keep them all in a single email!

I might have missed the answer, but I'll go ahead and ask anyways xD
I'm not from the USA, what about me :frowning: do I get no love? v_v
I'm pretty sure this is for citizens only but whatevs

Hi @Exelcius ! It seems like you can still apply if you're outside of the USA but you will need to work remotely (not in-house). :slight_smile: Hope that helps!

AAAAH, this sounds amazing. I definitely don't have time to work on another series though. Will this still be going on in years to come?

Sorry, I'm still really confused here. I wanted to do this when I first heard about this but the moving to Cali bit stopped me cause I live in Canada. Now it says it's optional but I still don't understand. How does this affect those living outside the US, cause I want to join this, it seems fun, but the guidelines are very confusing.

EDIT: Also now it looks like it'll be too late for me to join this :(:disappointed:

@mileshonor They did mention that they are hoping that it will still be around in the next few years. :slight_smile: So definitely keep an eye out!

@megaanimefreak7 @michaelciotta This opportunity is for creating a brand new comic with the Tapastic editorial team. They'll help you with editing and polishing up your comic throughout the 3-6 month timeline. That does NOT require you to be at the physical location of their headquarters. It helps, but is absolutely not required. That is why it is optional. :slight_smile: The deadline is September 9 at 11:59pm (PST) so you still have some time!
