yes the old and new one.! i prefer the new one bcoz it matches th drawing in manga via anime ^_^
I would have to say the comic book artist Ryan Ottley. He is pretty much does every thing when he does his art for Invincible. The only thing he doesn't do is the writing because that's Robert Kirkman's job. Ryan shows and says that good artwork takes time and lots of hard work. Just reading the comic book series Invincible(which is my favorite series of all time in comics) has made me see that through hard work and a lot of time that an artist can evolve to be better than they could ever imagine.
Marc Silvestri. Dude was my inspiration when I was 14 and first picked up X-Men with his artwork in it. I liked how his style was sketchy but on point at the same time. I pretty much followed him(he's one of the original creators of Image Comics) when he started doing Cyber Force...short of lately, I've moved on from being inspired by his current work, but every blue moon he'll whip up something that appeals to me.
Years ago I would have said Angel Medina, Greg Capullo, Dale Keown and most of the 90s Image Comics roster. Now, probably Leonardo Ortolani and Simpsons/Family Guy artists for my comic Zoonland.
Always is and always will be Shilin Huang. Especially way back in 2011 when other people's drawings discouraged me, hers always makes me want to draw even more. Not only she makes awesome original illustrations, she has an awesome webcomic as well! I was like love at first sight on her drawings.
Ahhh! Gushing about artistsssss! Yesssss!
Here is a list of a bunch of artists whose work makes me feel all pumped up and sparkly:
Becky CloonanFiona StaplesKate BeatonNoelle StevensonJen WangYamino (Sister Claire)Hchano (dream*scar)Hamletmachine OnoroboMichelle Czajkowski (Ava's Demon)Elsa Kroese (Spindrift)Ashley Cope (Unsounded)
... And honestly, like, all the people I follow here on Tapastic.( Off the top of my head: @ErithEl, @dracoplato, @shazzbaa, @spoonbard, @joannekwan, @keii4ii, @whispwill ... and so many more!)It is so amazing to be able to interact with artists you admire and watch them learn and grow along with you.... Gah! So cool. Okay, gush over
Aww, you're making me blush~
blush blush Thank you~! Your list also includes most of my favorite artists~! And then you of course @Jewe11s ❤
Aw thank you very much! And you definitely have some amazing artists on that list of yours (most of whom I already follow on Tapastic or outside lol!)
Despite me being in a art block at the moment, I would love to say all of the artists who keep me drawing (unless you want an endless list lol). But the main ones that keep me going are starexcorcist, Ross, and Shenanimation.
I was actually inspired by listening to Sleepycast (a podcast featuring several notorious flash animators.) for the first time decided to take drawing seriously. Most of the podcast is just dick jokes and off color humor, but hearing them talk about animation and drawing in general really inspired me to get back into drawing. They just had this sort of attitude about it that really struck me as something I could do. Whenever it came to getting better they would all say "You are gonna suck for a long time, and eventually you won't suck." It has really stuck with me. The fact that a bunch of guys who never had any formal training were able to make careers and produce high quality content is just really inspiring.
A lot.
Too many to list.
Though I think my all time artist will be endling due to the fact that he has mastered so many different aspects of art: comics, storytelling, painting, shapes, character design, backgrounds, movement, and so on and so forth.
Loish, Cara Grand, Ka Vang, Tony Diterlizzi, Joe Madureira, Gerardo Sandoval, Greg Capullo, Jonboy Meyers, Lesean Thomas, Shono, and a lot of anime and manga (love Studio Ghibli and Bones). Also the art of Final Fantasy (namely Tetsuya Nomura) and the Castlevania games (Yoshitaka Amano for this one) really influences me.
My inspiration has always been Gris Grimly. He has such a creepy and cool style, which isn't reflected in my art at all, but I've always admired his work. He was what got me into seriously drawing to begin with Oh, and Disney movies. Always been a huge Disney fan, and seeing the movies and especially the behind the scenes, never fails to motivate me to become a better artist. And hopefully an animator of some sort in the future (always wanted to work for Disney as an animator).
There are many for me, but if I had to pick one it'd be Charles Schulz. Peanuts is the best comic anyone has ever made. I try to give my main character, Harold Thruston, Charlie Brown's feelings of being a loser but Harold is by no means like Charlie Brown.
All of them...
Yeah I should be more specificMark Crilley was the guy who inspired me to try taking art more seriously and really take the time to learn it.A few tapastic creators who really inspired me were AtokNiiro, Uzuki Cheverie, Shenanigansen, and a few others. For writing I got most of it from calvin and hobbes, south park (I wish I could use more of that though) and all the books I've read...
And I could go on and on about all my other inspirations and influences but I think that covers the basics...
