Wow, I haven't really thought about what sparked the idea for my comic in a very long time. It's been a thing since 2009, so it's pretty much a part of me now. ...But now that I'm thinking about it, I think that it was sparked by something that really isn't too exciting. Haha.
So I have another story that has been in the works (and by that I mean, I've drawn the characters in it since 2005 and the story has been mostly forming in my head for years) and it's a really complicated story that was WAY BEYOND what I was even capable of drawing out. Initially I tried to start writing it in text form, but it just didn't seem right. "IT HAS TO BE A COMIC" I would shout over and over again. Or else all the drawings I've done for years would be for not. Also, drawing is fun, and I love to do it. haha.
Anyway, so I sat down one day, and decided that I was going to create another story that would be easier to draw out, as a form of practice for my art and comic process. Something that was way less extravagant, seeing as how the other story is supposed to be a big dramatic fantasy. At the time, I was just starting high school, and drew a lot in class, so I did a lot of doodling of character ideas for a while.

Eventually, I made a sad attempt at the comic, but it didn't happen. The version of my comic ,Long Shot, I'm working on now is actually the FOURTH rendition of it, and it's completely different than it started out as. Originally it was just supposed to be a slice of life about a group of three delinquent boys. Now it's a slice of life BL romance. ....How things changed. But in the end it's for the better, cause I was never super inspired for it before, and now I can't wait to work on it at the end of my work days.
