Sabres I have given to a few characters in the past but, I never got further enough to the point where they get to use it. As it belongs in the sword family I can appreciate the elegance of using a sabre.

Indeed, Setsuka is a character who use it all the time with the hidden sword in her umbrella!
Does the hidden blade in Assassin's Creed work too? stuck_out_tongue
There were sword canes , I'm sure I saw someone using this in a movie! This one's1 crazy, it's a cane, a sword and a shotgun. XD

I also like this art style, even if I do not use it. It's precise and quick, which is quite an advantage!

Maces are diamonds in the rough as far as its popularity in the weapon, of course every weapon has its uses and has their own symbolism. Drawing weapons in a battle is pretty fun but requires lots of planning.

The hidden blades in Assassin Creed definite has the element of surprise when people aren't expecting it. The cane, sword and shotgun sounds like quite the crazy idea. I did see the picture but, I didn't see the shotgun part of the weapon. That reminds me that back in high school my brother gave one of his OC's a shotgun katana.

Me too, I am always impressed if someone can beat someone up using no weapons except their body. But if I had to choose, I would either choose a bo-staff or a large hammer or a bow and arrow.

I have a weakness for characters using bladed weapons. Swords, daggers, halberds... Archery is really cool too and something I've always wanted to do in real life.

Magic and martial arts are very cool too. Uh... Soon I'll list all things. ^^'

Throwing a knife definitely looks more interesting then a bullet flying most times. Also if he needs to go in close quarters he need the knife that way.

I've realized I have a thing for girls with swords. Usually ones along the lines of fencing foils and rapiers, the skinner, elegant ones, so obviously Revolutionary Girl Utena and The Rose of Versailles influenced me a lot more than I thought. But I'm also a fan of quick, easy to use weapons too like daggers and throwing knives (and anything that can be thrown, really) and magic.

My OC Lilith is kind of a culmination of all the weaponry/fighting abilities I like: she has magic powers, she can use a sword, she has throwing knives and a small stash of smokescreen bombs (none of this besides the magic comes into play until later in the comic though). All 3 main characters in Xeno are athletes so they can hold their own in a fist fight at least for a little while.

But my favorite weapon to give my characters is definitely swords or magic powers (or sometimes magic swords).

I don't really have one... :T They're usually parts of their structure that they can use as weapons, like nails, sharp teeth, tails, horns, etc. I try to get creative with weapon types if I do give them weapons, like for example I made a weapon for one character that was essentially a lacross stick which they'd use to fling rocks, etc. at their target in long range or use the but end in close combat.

Melee weapons all the way! My main character fights with a spoon.

Drawing bladed weapons are fun, but you have a grander appreciation for all weapon types based on the weapons you like that don't have blades, such as magic and martial arts.

Yes swords are very versatile and come in tons of shapes and styles, which is why most people like them. Using magic alongside swordplay would definitely be interesting concept especially if they use a sword in one hand and magic in the other.
