The depths of screenwriting

My novel.

Would be nice if someone I knew(like @Peni ) won this one, to be honest. It would be a nice change. Not me, though. I'm not even participating(again), as I'm too busy with my own project.

Homunculi, elves(both kinds), faeries and giant(Jormungandr level) serpents.

Unfortunately, no. There's plans to possibly kickstart the whole thing, but the basic idea is that everyone is in for the sales revenue(which, granted, isn't much of a promise - it's a bit of a gamble, but at least the team is diligent about the work). My apologies for forgetting that bit from the…

The last one's winner was already announced. Cant remember the name of the guy, though.

@ArupakaPrince Click on their profile picture ball thingie, and a new pop-up window opens up. There, you can click "message", and vóla - you have reached your objective.

@Kamikaze Wow, thanks for that. I'll be sure to do that. Will he recognize your name if I say that "Kamikaze told me to talk to you", or does he know you by a different alias?

@J.Z.Castillo While I certainly agree with your point, I see no reason to use that slightly hostile tone. That kind of behavior will only make it harder for writers to find artists to collaborate with. @ArupakaPrince As @J.Z.Castillo mentioned, we would very much appreciate if you could showcase a…

Not at all. Just common courtesy.

No worries. Just remember - practice makes perfect. The key is to keep going until you master the skills you need as a writer. Good luck in your projects.

Protips for getting an artist's attention: Make sure your grammar is correct. Nothing puts off a prospective artist collaborator more than a writer who doesn't know their grammar. Offer a few samples of your writing. This is because artists have no other way of determining whether you can actuall…

That's the best thing I've heard in a while! I laughed so hard at this. XD

My favourite writer, Brandon Sanderson, has a saying(or he's quoting it from someone, I'm not sure which one it is) that applies perfectly to this question. "You can write ANYTHING, so long as your execution is phenomenal." This means that if you write about things the RIGHT WAY, you can write about…

"I swear, the next time I see a water basin, I'll shoot myself through with an arrow. Nevermind that it isn't physically possible."

Robin and Lucina, for a plethora of reasons - the most important of which is that I love Fire Emblem: Awakening more than perhaps any other game. My memories with that game are irreplaceable. Robin is my main, I don't really play as Lucina - however, her addition to Smash alongside Robin was one of …

@DiegoPalacios This, times ten. The best ad makes you feel like you wanted to see it.

My ability to plot(don't take this the wrong way) and to construct stories has grown immensely. Not only that, but I also started writing web comic scripts this year and have found the practice very much in line with my current style of storytelling. I am more confident than ever in my ability to te…

"Edit: I also believe writing from experience is kinda BS:/" What I say next is not meant to discount your own experience, but rather to offer an alternate point of view. Some people write, as the saying goes, "by the seat of their pants", letting their characters' personalities clash and then lea…

I was so impressed with your art(especially art of Rocky, WOW) that I would like to see your version Gustav, the villain main character of The Essence of VIllainy. In any case, good work! I have much respect for people who do stuff for free, seeing as their time is immensely valuable. [image]

That is a horrifying viewpoint, but it certainly would make a boatload of sense... But I'll digress from passing judgement on individuals before I have actually met such a bigot in real life and talked with them face to face.

Yeah, I've heard that there's a super big bias towards comic artists in general. Just what gives these teachers the right to define what art is? Even today, some people consider the "starving artist" to be the ultimate culmination of artisthood, but... to me, that seems more like cult mentality than…

Well, I suppose it's like telling to a lifelong vegan that bear meat has a very specific taste. They'll ask, "But isn't it just meat? What's so special about it?" They have no idea about the differences in taste when it comes to meat. In the same vein, I feel that people who haven't read too many …

"Comics are just illustration combined together, it's nothing special." "Yeah, how about we see you try?"

Ancient Immortal died. Coming to movie theaters near you in... well, not sure about when.

You guys will have to skip over me. I'm not feeling well enough to take my turn. Consider my participation rescinded. MAY THE NEXT ONE TAKE MY PLACE--! @shaqart , I summon you!

Haha, it's probably better not to do it on purpose. Readers will pick up on that. If your comic has a natural flow, I figured it's better to go with that.

"Repetitive cliches" and cliffhangers are two separate issues, though. And honestly, the more someone complains about a cliffhanger, the more invested they are in the story. Just take it as a compliment.

Yeah, DON'T take on too many projects at once. This comes from a guy who decided that he has to write 3 webcomic scripts(one is almost written and another is fully planned, though), then write a novel AND join a writer/artist pair competition... Suffice to say, I'm SPENT. XD @naughtingwell Aww, th…

Oh, I'm not critiquing their obedience to the law. I respect that in fact. It's just a big obstacle to the normal fellow is all. XD

Here's a question that bugs me: what about writer-artist teams? Let's say the writer has the idea and manages to find an artist - is this combination viable for entry to Tapas Creator Incubator Program? EDIT: Nevermind, just checked. Teams/duos are viable. Thank you for a comprehensive FAQ, Tapas!…

1/10 unless we consider emos would-be murderers, in which case it's 10/10. Bad jokes aside, pink has rarely been threatening in art(but when it is, man... that stuff is CREEPY) and having an emphatic face doesn't exactly intimidate people. That said, if we went all psychological on the character i…
