I got a strange PM this morning from someone who is apparently a businessman in Korea. He's looking for artists for what he's calling a 'webtoon' and willing to pay. The message looks like REALLY sketchy spam mail, but I don't wanna be the jerk who assumes someone contacting me whose first language isn't english is totally bogus. Has anyone else got a message from everydayebridge? I did a little research and they seem to be some kind of (very new) recruitment agency based in korea.

Got the same one. To be honest, it raises so many red flags it just has "scam" written all over it which is quite a shame if it is indeed a legitimate offer, but it's so impersonal it seems like they're just sending it to as many people as possible. Usually not a good sign. It definitely appears to be spammy, not to mention many artists here might not feel comfortable with what they're asking for...

Anyway, I don't know a single word of Korean, making it pretty difficult to do proper research. The few Google results aren't helping, haha. So while I'm extremely wary and I'd advise anyone to be careful, I'm also not entirely sure if reporting it as spam/a scam/whatever is the right thing to do. For all I know they could indeed have every intention of paying the people they hire.

I would do some research get some more info from the person to see if they are a bot. you know following basic rules never send money. never use western union, always backwards search any names or emails.

I got one too, I'm not sure this is really a spam, but I'm not looking for those kind of job anyway, and the "Notice : candidate send us portfolio and female naked drawing" at the end made me laugh so hard.
It wasn't very clear for me if they want porn comics or just comics a bit dark and mature.

Yeah that last bit made me laugh pretty hard too. It just seems like a strange way to go about it you know? Also the whole practice of "send us art of naked women and MAYBE we'll pay you' just seems gross.

Yep, got one too. Like everyone else is saying, it's got scam written all over it so I'm just ignoring it. At least it was over PM so my wall isn't spammed up.

Ok some Korean dude is recruiting for talent for some webtoons (Korean webcomics). I think the naked ladies thing is pretty weird, I don't think those webtoons are going to Naver or Daum. Lezhin maybe but the PM still sounds fishy.

Can anyone link me to their profile?

That does not bode well.
