Oooh, yes, I would definitely like to have more time to get into doll creation!
I've sewn some simple cloth dolls before but I would love to have all the know-how and tools to create my own ball-jointed dolls. They can be so gorgeous, and I for sure would create a doll of my character Fawn.
I would also like to learn 3D modeling so I can 3D print some stuff out.
But alas, so much to do, so little time.
Dude yes! Music creation is something I've always wanted to sit down and spend major time with. On occasion, I'll toy with samples and cut bits of music up in Audacity to mix them with others. When I was younger, I used to splice parts of songs I recorded onto tape together, "remixing" them in my mind. I really wish I had time for more of that but like you said, making songs takes A LOT of time, hah. And the learning curve for really solid music creation and editing software is hardcore. So sad there aren't more hours in a day!
Otherwise, I would love to have more time to learn needlefelting! The artist Hikaru I met through pixiv needlefelts the most awesome goldfish (here's her twitter1). I've tried to make my own but wow, it takes a bit of finesse to get the shapes just right. And I've pricked myself with the needle SO many times, haha~ My hands are magnets for sharp objects, I'd have to dedicate extra time to the hobby of finding out why my hands and fingers are so easy to stab! >w<
I wish I could ride a skateboard. Unfortunately I was born with two left feet, no sense of balance and have the coordination of an airdancer (those tube things that they put in front of stores for advertisement). Since I avoid activities that could hurt my hands and wrists (Can't do my job without them), this is just never going to happen.
It would be awesome to do it though.
Making Clothes ( well, 70% gowns haha) , acting and martial arts.
For making clothes, I don't have the tools or materials to learn it (and not the money to buy all these things), but maybe I could try it in the future for when I have saved enough money
I always wanted to act or at least make a movie, but again, acting classes and a good camera are expensive… Plus doing it with a normal camera would be okay, but nobody I asked would join me. :I
Martial Arts… I'm not sure which one is best for me, I'd like to try some and then look what's best for me, but first I have to exercise a little. Right now I'm just as flexible as a dry breadstick.
There's a lot more I'd like to do, but oh well, step by step, one after another right.
I really wish I had more time for things that I already kind of dabble in. Most of my time is spent on comics and my job, but I also do a little bit of cosplay, I paint Magic Alters, and I am a decent vocalist. Most of my friends are cosplayers so I really wish I could do more with that, but it's also an issue of funding. I am however working on another large cosplay for may.
As far as things I have no experience in, I would also really love to learn a Martial Art. I think they're very interesting and I would love to learn one for research purposes as well, so I could learn how to coordinate fight scenes better.
sculpting or 3d modeling. My brain can't process anything 3d, like translating objects in a 3d space in my head. So I have had a lot of trouble trying to get into 3d, mostly involves screaming and crying. I think sculpting would be the better thing to learn though because I'm a really physical person and I can't understand non-concrete things like 3d. So being able to actually touch something instead of moving a mouse around to make a thing in a virtual space sounds easier to me.
I'd like to learn a lot more things involving creating, but unfortunately I only know drawing which is the least costly, and I don't really even like drawing... I'd rather do many other crafty things that involve creating physical things rather than a picture on a piece of paper.
Oh heck yes to the martial arts research, I never even thought of that. I think wushu is amazing, I would love to have studied that! It's a highly stylised, beautiful form of martial arts that's more dance than combat.
But learning some form of a more practical martial art would be fabulous for integrating into comic work. Something to consider!
Drawing... yup, that's pretty much my whole life and I fully devote myself to it. I'm such a boring person OTL
Although I'm little intereted in make-up, from the artistic site. Sometimes when I'm bored I just paint my face to scare my parents lol. But it's not something I would want to take as seriously as comic making.
Okay now I will throw my boring personality off of this topic \\flies away
Or actually, painting maybe? I always wanted to try different kind of art, paint a bee on a huge canvas, yes, that's what I was planning for a long time, but it seems there's never enough time.
I've taken a couple of hobbies but I get too involved in other things and eventually move on...haha...ha.... too many to count. I was into rock climbing, competitive swimming, 3D modeling...and I like to just...build stuff. (I have a Krazzle incense burner, some masks made out of higüeras (I've done talking masks using Arduino and model airplane motors, actually!) So just...MAKING THINGS!!!
I was really into Judo for a while (I have clumsy legs so being grounded helped me a lot)
So I wish I could get back into all this again.
BUT STUFF I'D LIKE TO DO I haven't had a chance to yet because busy bee...
Surfing! My dad's board stares at me from a distance.
Music! Much like a lot of people here.
And sewing. Like...clothes because it's getting too expensive and low-quality in most places.
I have done cosplays before tho (and plushes)! It used to be a hobby of mine but I haven't done it in a while. Now I mostly just prepare stuff for Halloween (If anyone's curious I can drop links I guess? but I dunno if it's off-topic since I did take them up at one point)
Hobbies I'd like to do but lack time for:
Doll making. I wouldn't mind making dolls of some characters in my comics, but I lack the time for it.
Coding. There are several projects I have in mind that require coding, but yet again, my time is consumed by other things.
I've wanted to try cosplay, but everyone else in my house doesn't seem to like that idea.
@lorenu Are we the same person? I was actually planning to be an actor for most of my life, and the two hobbies I was gonna write were exactly what you wrote...weird!
But yeah, I've already attempted to make some clothes (dresses mostly), but it's always been with a pattern I tried to make myself, which never really turned out how I pictured. I'l like to actually learn how to do it well!
And yeah, I've been considering taking Krav Maga classes, but it's hard with a retail schedule where it's never really guaranteed to have the same day off every week.
One fun thing that my friend and I randomly took up out of boredom earlier this year was crafting. We've made a bunch of pop-up books and decorations, and a papier mache turkey out of a giant ornament... We just put on Friends or Avatar the Last Airbender and craft for the whole day – and it's not lame, I promise!
I really want get into paintball, the very thought of hiding in dark places and ambushing people like a ghost gets me excited (especially in dense forests, I'd love to do that.)
The only problems with it are the cost (equipment, clothing, booking/getting into games in the first place) and the fact that I'm still in high school: studies are important mang.
