I assume these forums are for both sites correct (Tapas and Webtoons?)

Anyway, I find it odd that the stats on Tapas are so much better than on WT. Is there a reason for that? Do only the featured toons on WT get real stats?

Actually the big "Tapas" logo up top suggestions it's only for tapas.

My stats are way better on webtoon than on tapas.... Like 20x better. And i'm def not featured and have never been promoted by either website.

Yes, I believe everyone here talks about both platforms ^ ^
I believe this happens due to Tapas being more like a community where everyone supports everyone, whereas Webtoon you have to work harder to build a loyal, trust worthy fanbase.
As a creator I actually like Webtoon, i posted only 2 eps and am doing fairly well ( with 613 subs and 4.5k views). My readers leave nice comments, likes and ratings so...
I believe on Tapas people will support you the author for you whereas at Webtoon people support you if your art and story are good and appealing.

Technically these are Tapas' forums.
It's in the url 'forums.tapas.io'

BUT anyway, stat differences can be chalked up to your type of comic and how well it's received on either platform as each has a slightly different demographic.

I find it is usally the other way around where webtoon has better stats than Tapas for most comics. Tapas does have better communication methods and is easier to be more active with readers and other authors though so the engagement feels more direct.

On my past comic my stats favor tapas always, but since my reboot at first Tapas was more active, but slowly webtoons stats overtook it (outside of comments by people, tapas is still more active in that department).

I also feel webtoons subs are more natural as in tapas is easier to know who sub so the 'sub for sub' (nothing wrong with this, just pointing the difference in sub methods for both platforms) is more prominent compare to webtoons. I love both platforms though!

Thanks for the replies - I didn't make myself clear. I wasn't asking how well your COMIC was doing on each platform, I was asking about the actual METRICS available to you as a creator on each platform. Oddly to me, it seems better here on Tapas. All I get is a monthly and overall readout on my dashboard, vs the nice daily stat breakdown here. I wondered if there was more for featured creators or something.

I think how well you do on each platform largely depends on your comic. My guess is that the audiences are slightly different.

Also, IS there an actual forum for Webtoons? It seems this is the only forum out there for the two sites.

Webtoon: 1.5k views, 114 subs in a month.

Tapas: 1.4k views, 58 subs in about 2 months since I posted to tapas first.

My stats are significantly better on Webtoon than tapas. Still no real idea why..

Definitely Webtoon for me in this regard. I did 2 different comics at 2 completely different genre and the stats on WT is always better because I think the chance of people finding my work without me promoting like crazy is higher than that of Tapas. Literally after about 2 months I got about 1k subs and even Patreon patrons from my Webtoon readers and the engagement is amazing. I still upload on Tapas sometimes for some extra exposure :joy:

I'm one of those weird folks who has better stats on Tapas than Webtoon. It has been like that since before I got any spotlights or premium deals.

It really comes down to your content, preferred marketing methods, episode length, and sometimes just chance. Tapas audiences are more likely to try out your other comics since Tapas has profile pages, so if you are a multiple series creator you will likely see a more stable success growth across the board once you're starting to reach a more established stage, whereas webtoons proves more fickle.

I have found the same. I get way more information here on Tapas then I do on Webtoons! I also love that I get notified when someone comments as I find it's very easy top miss that on Webtoons unless you are checking each episode constantly. But I have no idea if featured creators have more information available to them. I would presume so but I haven't seen it discussed anywhere.

Tapas specifically has a section of the forums dedicated to Webtoon so I would say it's safe to presume you can ask questions here. Especially since Webtoons has nothing like this available.

As for the numbers game, I have found that my comic has been doing waaaay better on Tapas - but I think thats because I lucked out and got on the staff picks list right away.
