Summers here!
Perfect time for the beach!
Not for me, I'm inside drawing.
But that doesn't mean our characters have to be inside!

Drew this to practice some new lighting ideas. Not sure all of them work, but that's what trial and error is for.
Also, characters are starting to accumulate more scars in my story, so gotta keep track of who has what (Keep forgetting Keanu got stabbed in chapter 10).
First time I've drawn Rose's scar; not stopping her from going full bikini.
Natsumi is making the most of the sun, Keanu has just finished catching a wave and Lok is reading in the shade.

Did a beach look a while back. It was one of the prompts of an Outfist August challenge I did back in 2020.

I oughta draw at least my leads for the summer, but I've been slacking, because Alicia in a swimsuit is something I'm afraid of lol. She and Kattar will both kill me for separate reasons. But I did write up what they do at the beach:

Kattar is packing sunglasses, snacks, and sunscreen. No swimsuit, because he doesn't intend to get in the water because he doesn't want to get his hair wet (cough cough drama king.) He's probably just going to wear something light and made of cotton or linen so he doesn't overheat a lot.

Alicia is like "What is sunscreen? Ohhhh you mean melanin." She is for sure not using sunscreen.

She brings frozen fruit juice to drink because it'll melt very quickly in the heat of the beach and also a cover-up or sundress to wear over her swimsuit and after the beach when she and Kat go somewhere to eat.

Picking a swimsuit is probably tricky for her because she's pretty self-conscious about the scars on the back of her legs and her back. Kattar would probably convince her to relax and tell her that nobody cares about the scars but her, so she doesn't need to feel awkward about them, but that won't make her stop thinking about them. Also she packs an irrational amount of hair ties because she has like a LOT of hair to tie up, and if her hair ties snap it'll just be a mess. She's also totally the person to insist she's super thirsty after she drinks all the juice she brought, and ends up buying a very overpriced, possibly alcoholic, drink from one of the restaurants on the beach, but Kattar refuses to buy full meals at them because they're overpriced and there are better restaurants elsewhere.

Yes, it will take Alicia ages to get the sand out of her hair after this trip, and whenever she goes swimming she always has to stop and go to the bathroom 10,000x.

First of all, Essence does not want to go to the beach. Getting the sand out of her hair again will take literally forever, and she's not about to wear a swim cap at the beach, not only because it would be super hard to get her hair under it, but also because it looks ridiculous to her.

She'll only be staying at the beach as long as whoever she went to the beach with wants to stay, and she'll probably just sit on the beach overheating, and drinking lots of ice water unless they ask her to get into the water.

Dominic would probably insist she drink something other than plain water and have some pink lemonade or popsicles which he for sure packed in a very very very iced cooler, along with some slightly alcoholic cold cocktails, and Essence will probably agree to try a popsicle, but not enjoy it very much, because the one he offered her was his favorite coconut milk popsicle which is oddly creamy and also has little pieces of coconut in it, and Essence has texture issues.

Dominic is largely enjoying himself, too eager to take his shirt off, and probably torturing anyone he can manage to get to come into the water with the huge waves he'll splash them with, or sometimes full-on grabbing and pulling them into the water, especially if his sisters came along. Cocoa will pretend to be annoyed, and maybe be a little annoyed by his antics but still enjoy herself. Honey will plan to just work on her tan and not get her hair wet, but consents to get in the water if Dominic asks and then be just as militant in the ridiculous water war as Dominic.

However, if his sisters were with him on the beach Dominic would be a little less relaxed, because he'd totally be looking out for creepers who might try to mess with them.

Ayla would increase Essence's stress tenfold if the beach was crowded because she'd be afraid of losing her. Ayla would want Essence to build a sand castle with her, want Essence to bury her in the sand, and probably end up getting Essence to take her into the water. (Essence won't let her go alone because she's afraid of her drowning just offshore in the shallows that don't even cover her toes.)

Shaun enjoys the beach, but she's a bit self-conscious about her swimsuit body so it takes her a minute to hype herself up before she'll be ready to go. Once she does, she'll totally forget she was ever self-conscious and just enjoy herself.

I drew my oc in swimwear recently. Mostly as a concept for a possible beach episode hehehehe

Forgot about Andrew, Melissa, and Jinho, so here we go.

Jinho sunburns easily and doesn't really like being out in the sun (read: nature.) He'd only go to the beach if Andrew really wanted him too, and he'd probably stay in the shade under a beach umbrella the whole time complaining about the heat and asking if they could go home unless Andrew persuaded him to get in the water or walk along the beach with him.

Andrew thinks the ocean is gorgeous, he loves swimming, he loves walking along the sand and finding shells. He'd want Jinho to enjoy it with him but Jinho doesn't enjoy things that don't include AC, so Andrew would content himself with Jinho enjoying it for Andrew's sake.

Melissa loves the beach. She doesn't care if people think she's too old to enjoy playing around and should just work on her tan. She wants to bring a beach ball, dig her toes into the sand, drag her husband into the water to play with her. Her son will complain about her being so rambunctious and playful and say she's being embarrassing and she will ignore him. She goes through a lot of effort to find a cute swimsuit that doesn't look like it was meant for children in her size, since she's only 4'7.

Something I want to highlight are:
Isham reading Bleach (which is a huge inspiration for Reap)
Lolly running out of the water to re-unite with her head.
Esen-Ali parting the waves, as she is an angel
And this is the first time I decided that Kno would have a feathered body, and some weird feet.

And so no one is left out, Emerald is playing in the sand… Because ... cat girl.

This was kind of fun coming up with whatever everyone's swimwear would be.
Especially the 7000 year old angel, and 120 year-old demon.
