I understand why people like to buy and listen music in bits or by song, but it’s missing the complex drama of full albums...

i go one step further: i collect vinyl! i find it easier to find lesser known stuff on vinyl than on CD. I mostly find greatest hits on CD, or live albums. On vinyl, I've found even some artist's more obscure works there. It's so much fun to look through...

I wish I could start collecting vinyl, but I'm really cheap so...yeah. But I've found some really rare CD's in my bargain bin hunting, including signed ones and ones that can't be found on digital.

The fact that you can put random rap part into your non-rap song doesn't mean that you should. Some songs could be much better without those parts. To be fair some artist pull this off nicely, so it's case by case but I don't like it more often than I like it.

I've seen many people online that only listen to metal, where vocals are all screams and growls and... How? I need at least a few seconds of clean vocals in a song. Let my ears rest for a while. :sob:

Nickelback is okay.

I don't mind listening to music in other languages than English. I love Japanese music and I can understand only some of the lyrics. In some cases I even wish I didn't understand them at all. :joy:

Country music doesn't really bother me.

I like new BMTH more than the old BMTH.

And a really controversial one: I don't like Vocaloids. Just not my cup of tea.

I also love CDs, and also still buy vinyls (new and old). I have a huge amount of cassettes and magnetic tapes and 78rpm. Collectors, signed stuff etc too, but only for my top favorite music, or when they are very aesthetically pleasing (actually waiting for some right now, but I think Covid & Christmas got it lost ).
Digital is practical, but I could not imagine living with only that..

  • K-pop fans are low hanging fruits according to many other music communities, but purposely trolling and baiting them just don't make you better.
  • Every music fandom has their own bad apple. Classical music fans can be as cringy as EDM fans.
  • Billie Eilish's voice (or rather the way she sings) somehow makes me impatient.
  • I don't get the "I don't understand what they're saying, so I don't like it." Bitch do you understand violin language in your instrumentals?
  • Unclean vocals when done right is a work of art. I like "Soprano and gravel" vocal dynamic.
  • Crypton's vocaloid sucks compared to other companies', they're just happen to be the forefront of Vocaloid because Miku gone viral and everybody is simping for her. They're the epitome of overrated.

Yes, I agree! I like to listen to music when I’m drawing or cleaning, but can’t listen to it when I’m studying. And sometimes I can’t listen to music and understand a conversation at the same time, so people get confused/annoyed when I mute the tv or turn down the car radio to actually process what they’re saying.

  • OH yes there are bad fans everywhere.. One of the worst fans I ever personally met was a classical music fan (and.. reasonably famous classical composer. Disgraceful...). Met a few frustrating metal fans too; (bad) metal fans seem to be specialists of 'I'm all for individual freedom... for me but not for you'. (classical and metal are the only two communities I was ever part of for long periods of time, even if I listen to much more diverse things, but I'm sure it's the same everywhere)...

  • For me the text is part of the work, so I don't like not knowing what is said, but I always take the time to find a translation if I like the music;. i.e., I don't like not knowing but I learn instead of rejecting.

  • Mixed vocals... Unclean/Soprano is not my fav, though, I prefer less contrast, but that is just nitpicking.

Not really unpopular but I love most pop songs from 2000 to 2015 because pop is a genre i find myself not getting tired of listening to. And Britney Spears songs? Still fire. I prefer old Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Marina and the Diamonds though.

I like vocaloids but im ngl that I listen to covers of it 80% of the time. The only voices I like are Miku, Luka, Gumi, and Gakupo v.v I can't stand too high voices at times with most songs in them. I really don't like Kaito's voice except in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HAFjnOF77Q1

also don't get it when people say nowadays songs are all about s**, like even before most songs were about it, it's just that many were young to understand what the lyrics meant lmao.

As someone who listens to AC DC very frequently, I agree with this one

  • I absolutely despise Reggaeton and I believe that it's taking down the good party music. I'd rather dance and sing along to some good pop/rock/punk music when I'm at a disco :cry_swag:

  • Musical theatre songs aren't that bad, though the recent fandoms are quite toxic. People usually say "ugh, musicals are so bland" but there are so many ranges of the genre that I believe anyone can find one they like

  • OSTs from animated movies tend to be overlooked but often they have the same quality ir even more than soundtracks from other genres. Have you heard Zimmer's Prince of Egypt score? That's simply chilling, but you rarely see him being praised for it as much as for his other scores :sweat_01:

Bagpipes sound AWESOME. They're rich, bold, and the way they make the air inside and all around you vibrate is utterly magical.

I'd love to learn how to play, but that idea has been veto'd by my partner and every single one of my immediate neighbours. :cry_02:

1) The musical evolution stopped 30 years ago.
Nothing new was developed and everything is just a copy of something which was
already done

2) The Beatles were a very mediocre band in all possible ways.
Some of their songwriting is good but that doesn´t differ them from other bands.
George Harrison was by far the best musician in the band.
If the Beatles wouldn´t have existed and would form in 2020 they would have
no success

I agree. Bagpipes sound kind of badass. I also think banjos sound awesome but a lot of people I know hate the way they sound.

Okay, as an "outsider" who doesn't really like any country, I actually have to agree with you on this one. Old country is just so much more tolerable than new/"pop" country. And even within pop country, the newer pop country is worse than the older pop country.

Like, all new pop country sounds the same and is all about drinking and partying. I'm sorry, but if I'm going to be subjected to the generic themes of drinking and partying, then I'm going to at least listen to it in a song that actually has a beat and a melody. Something actually catchy that you ACTUALLY want to drink and party to.

Hank III is good new country and he hates pop country
