What will you not draw?

I'm taking requests now, but I realized I needed a list beforehand to show people what I can do, but I didn't think about putting what I won't do until later. My main thing is that I won't draw genres or styles I hate, things like My Little Pony and Steven Universe. Anyone else have some things they just won't draw because they dislike it?

I guess I probably just wouldn't draw anything with nudity. The second I try it makes me feel uncomfortable. Especially if I start with the face.

If im being honest, I flat out don't take requests from other people.

Over time I realized I get them for characters that look completely boring or fandom ocs, which also end up being completely boring. I am very picky when it comes to drawing stuff for other people unless they're my friends - but often times a lot of my friends and I share similar aesthetics / tastes that it's not a drag for me to draw something for them.

specifically, maybe i won't draw characters from a fandom I don't have an interest in already. and that has to be a strong interest at that too. asides from that there's nothing I, personally, wouldn't want to draw.

-animals
-robots/mechanical objects
-excessive gore
-excessively NSFW content
-any offensive material in general

Like most here I don't really like to draw full nudity, got nothing against it and I've made a few lewd/pornographic pics in the past but I just honestly don't find it fun to draw.

tbh I get nervous whenever I ask for requests, because I always worry someone's going to request something I don't want to draw, haha. I don't draw NSFW/nudity/offensive stuff, like many others here. On the more petty end, I hesitate to draw characters or pairings I specifically don't like. I'd probably refuse a request if I felt like I wouldn't be able to draw it adequately (probably something with a lot of ornate detail).

But other than that, I'm usually down to try drawing pretty much anything, lol.

In the few instances I've taken commissions (usually at cons), I generally just go with, nothing explicit, no mechs -- I'm not about the explicit stuff and mechs will take a lot of extra time. I've also seen a lot of folks include "furries" in either the will or won't column just because it's a category that's tough to draw well if you don't have experience with it.

The one time I opened up one of those "send me a colour palette and a character" things on tumblr, I specifically said it had to be either my own characters or fandoms I'm already in!

In general though, I don't take requests and very rarely take commissions. I take commissions at cons because I'll be working quickly and finishing them up THAT WEEKEND and it's fun to do for a couple days, but otherwise I find drawing the characters of folks I don't know to be kinda soul-draining. Some people get a lot of enjoyment out of that kind of thing, which I think is awesome!! but i am definitely not one of those people, haha.

Basically, any hardcore/graphic/underage/non-consensual NSFW. Mecha is a no-go. Some anthro characters I won’t be able to do, but it’s on a case-by-case basis."

I also rarely do requests. I have limited time as it is to get my freelance stuff + Heart Hex done, I can't be doing free things.

-Kissing on the lips (if it is a request). Personally it makes me uncomfortable when I draw it.

I haven't really done requests in recent years. I would be open to doing them however, I only want to take them from people who actually follow me. But none of my followers showed any interest in me drawing free stuff for them.

Def have to say wont draw anything that I dont have an interest in. I have no issues drawing mostly anything else, but there's gotta be an interest in it.

As for fetish type stuff- I wont do it for FREE. If the money is GOOD, and it's not being reproduced or anything, then what do I care? But I will say, no- I dont do pedophila type stuff: that's my moral line in the sand.

I will draw literally anything for the right price, and I will also draw almost anything just for fun. Robots, monsters, gore, NSFW stuff, trees, architecture... literally anything. Now, whether or not I will draw it well is an entirely different matter. My skill varies wildly from subject to subject. I draw monsters decently well, but humanoids and buildings are tricky for me.

I'm fine with nudity, but I would not want to draw too suggested poses or so. But a naked body itself is quite nice
What I would also refuse to draw are real people. Doesn't matter if they are supposed to look realistic or as a cartoon version.
Also furries or crossover pairrings are not my cup of tea. I would not enjoy drawing either and probably couldn't deliver a satisfying piece of artwork.
And my worst enemy...MECHANICAL STUFF!!! Mechas, spaceships, cars, vehicles, ARK! Bad enough that I have to draw stuff like this in my comic once in a while, but as a request or comission? Nope, never! (Unless there is a huge payment attached to it xD)

I will not draw:
NSFW, most furries, extreme gore, political stuff, things I don't support.

I suck at drawing:
Most animals, tech (if I don't get good reference) cities, landscapes, romantic/ intimate stuff.

I prefer not to draw:
Old people, naked/ half naked people, fan characters of fandoms I'm not in, fanart of characters I don't like, people I know personally (Because I don't want to offend them).

Not that I have ever done comissions or request, but just for the sake of discusion I would say I would never do something that I consider demeaning.

I would be okay drawing almost anything as long as I don't find it contrary to my personal beliefs. Anything that advocates for hate or violence just for the sake of violence is an absolute no from me.

I wouldn't mind doing something that I found hard to draw (mech, landscapes or furries) but I will have to charge a little more for it.

I don't take requests, I barely have enough time to draw my own art!

However when I did do drawings for people I avoided anything obviously against my own moral code or horrible.

I draw violence and gore to a point, but I stop when I think it's becoming exploitative or needlessly horrible (for example, while I appreciate his talent, Jacen Burrows type stuff is WAY over the line for me. Do not Google him if you have low tolerance for explicit gore).I like stuff that's kinda macabre though, a good example is the old horror comics and the excellent (peerless some would say), work of Bernie Wrightson.

I also don't like drawing too much anime inspired stuff unless it's got some streak of creativity to it. I got one or two "Draw my 4000 year old demon OC who's actually an angel but was kidnapped at an early age and sent to a Japanese High School" requests which I turned down.

I'm thinking of starting up again though. I've been practising on some fan art of well known characters to get back into the swing of things.
