Just a mostly gay teenage lizard who loves webcomics more than anything else! Give my comic, Fragile, read if you'd like!

I'll Plug mine. [image] https://tapastic.com/series/Scary Comics for the incurably melancholy and the perpetually unnerved. [image] https://tapastic.com/series/Evil-Witch-Allie Jake found little girl claiming to be a witch wandering alone outside his house on Halloween. It would have been nic…

My comic, Aetherwing, is a story about an arrogant angel who teams up with an awkward nerd with mysterious powers to track down a plague monster. Also elementals! [image]

There are so many amazing looking comics on here! O: Mine's a mythology-based story about the truth behind ancient Greek heroes... Hopefully I'm going to persuade a lot of people to have as much love for the monsters as me. blush This is the cover of my comic, Polyphemus! [image]

Soon she must decide whether to trust her mentor or her mysterious cellmate, as she learns the High Priestess has dangerous plans for the book, plans which may not only put their world i…

No mention of Witchy yet? It's got solid art and very strong writing. At a first glance, it may seem like a typical high school story about a main character who's a victim of bullying, but there is SO much more to it. And it's fantasy, of course. The school teaches magic, in a kingdom whose system r…

Take a break if you need one. Seriously, do. I haven't lost loved ones often, thankfully, but for me, art and the creation thereof has always represented a kind of comforting routine, and in times of great upset or loss, it's a space for me to take shelter in, and keep working on it until things …

You could keep yourself busy for a LIFE time with InkStuds! Robin talks with all the big names, as well as interesting up and comers. Sometimes Brandon Graham of Multiple Warhead & Island helps interview as well.

For word bubbles, I only hand letter short projects (mini comics) or if a client specifically asks. I like the way my hand lettering looks, but it really makes my hand tired and hurty, so for my webcomic I letter in illustrator.

I really wanted to hand letter my work. The idea that I could have the complete comic be 100% on paper is magical. Alas, though I can draw, I have poor handwriting. People complained about the lettering in Visceral's Prologue. So I had to switch to digital text for my other projects... I admire all …

I mostly handletter because i do everything in SAI and it doesn't have a text tool lol. //and i'm too lazy to open a second program just to input text orz

I always use fonts, but there's only one comic that I actually letter by hand (Urban Legend) Because it just goes well with the style and I don't have to switch programs to do the lettering, nor fiddle with the text space etc. which can be tedious sometimes.

I use a font I made from my handwriting so...I guess that counts? I think hand-lettering looks awesome and definitely adds a more personal touch, and I totally agree with your point about the art and the dialogue matching. Trying to make my handwriting look neat/consistent for every single speech bu…

I love all the different lettering styles you use in your comic! It makes things more interesting and makes a lot of sense too, since there are so many different ways your characters communicate

I started hand lettering on my current comic and I'm pretty sure I have to redo some of the writing in the first couple of pages at least at some point but I was inspired by a fellow comic artist's thoughts on hand lettering and since I don't usually have that much dialogue it's actually easier to e…

I hand letter my comics because most fonts look tool mechanical and polished to me. I like hand lettering in comics because I feel it gives a personal touch! I just hope my handwriting is clean enough to look alright.

I used hand letters on a page, will perhaps use them on special occasions. I use a font because it's rather tedious and time consuming to write with a mouse (given i obsess over having everything in order too and it'd take all that much longer). But yeah, hand writing can be pretty damn awesome! […

i hand-letter! my pages are pretty obviously hand-made and a digital typeface just doesnt look very good on them, so i use pens. [image] admittedly my handwriting is kind of unusual, but i've been trying to make it as neat as i can and i think i have slowly been improving. everyone who i have ask…

I letter my stuff traditionally. Tried using fonts a long time ago, it took forever to type and align everything, I kept forgetting what fonts I used, it looked ugly. It was a generally unenjoyable process, so I rage quit and stuck with writing everything out from then on. Sure, my handwriting is…

I hand letter my pages, and with them already being fully traditional, digital text would just stand out too much.

Me too, I hand letter. Basically everything I do in my comic is by hand since I wanna bcom a better artist than my inspiration Kubo Tite. THE LAST SAMURAI

Runewriters is digitally hand-lettered! This is mostly because I really like playing with the lettering to represent different things; Tareth's lowercase, stick-and-circle font reflects how her deaf accent comes across differently to her hearing friends; Jonan's muffled scribbles are less weird than…

I kind of switch between hand lettering and a font I made of my handwriting, It really just depends on the amount of text in the comic and whether it would take a long time to write it or not.

Yeah, I hand letter! I can't figure out what kind of font looks good with my art, so I just use my own handwriting. I think with traditional comics sometimes it fits a little better, whereas with digital ones a font ties it together better. Now I just need to learn how to keep my handwriting cons…

I hand lettered my comic for an anthology but oh man, it took longer than to draw the comic so I don't think I'll do that again ;D (Ok, I might, because it was fun, but I wouldn't dare to make a 1200 page long hand lettered comic) It's just easier to fix typos later with using a font, and it looks…

I used to hand-letter my first comic Demon House, but stopped after the fourth episode. I type much faster than I write and it's easier to fix typos and format as far as centering the text goes. I still hand-write sound effects or small side dialogue though.

To me, the greatest sin you can commit as a comic artist/writer is the "wall of text." This is a visual medium, and the art should always work in tandem with the story. Here's an example, if you're fortunate to have never experienced it. [image] Pages like this just destroy pacing, and can someti…

[image] You should check out my comic Universe Jumper! Welcome to Tapastic and good Luck on your comic!

I think I would be a 4 on your scale! I devote myself to comics seriously and consider myself a professional, but I usually avoid "The Industry," haha. I prefer webcomics! Most of my work is self-published, and comics is not my living. If it never becomes my living, that wouldn't be a failure to me,…
