It's so nice to see how many other people hate STARTING a page. It's murder. I don't know why I put it off. I'm usually pretty happy once I'm in the zone but the act of sitting down to the blank page is maddening. I paced around the house for an hour yesterday before starting.

I don't normally have trouble with specific details, like which side of a character's face is scarred, but I have entire days where they're inconsistent in broad strokes. Stuff like height and shape face. It isn't that I've forgotten either. My brain knows exactly what they should look like. My hand…

Honestly? Keeps me from going crazy. I share it because if I didn't, it would all feel a little pointless. I committed to writing one book a few years ago. I finished it and got depressed again so I started another one. This is just my life now.

That's interesting. I never thought to use them as a kind of alt text.

Been thinking about this for a while. Aside from the obvious, like genre and subject matter, what more generalized tags make effective search terms? Everywhere else I post, it's obvious. Hashtag "webcomics." Hashtag "comicart." And so forth. But on Tapastic, that's implied. Genre is already listed…

Oh, hell yeah, a western! I don't see enough of these. Great use of black and white, man.

ANDY CHRIST Only a few subscribers so far but trying to make that number climb! I'm currently releasing my fifth book so there's lots to catch up on. Please just give it a quick look and if you like what you see, subscribe! Thanks! I need all the help I can get! [image] [image] [image] [image]

"Compromise" to me would be trying to reach an audience that was never going to be on board with Andy Christ's dark humor anyway. Like, it's what it says on the tin, you're going to like it or you're going to hate me. But I am trying to consider the reader's feelings every step of the way, which I…

Having not experienced true loss for far too long, you grow insulated and content, cut off from the harsher whims of fate, and indeed, the rest of human experience. You--and everyone you've ever cared about--remain exactly as you are now, snapshots frozen in time. There is no more pain. You never gr…

Done! Let us know the results!

I don't know if this is a recent development but it's always seemed to me there's a big divide between "CHRISTIAN" media and media that happens to have Christian themes. In other words, The Chronicles of Narnia is a great story from a Christian's point of view. C.S. Lewis did not set out to nurtur…

It would be awesome if you could fit me in. Andy Christ

Hey, I'm Pat! I've been putting out Andy Christ comics for the last three years and just recently moved them all to Tapastic, looking for more of a community than I've had before. I just started releasing pages from my fifth book. Andy Christ is about a little boy named Andy, the devil’s six-year-…

I hope I didn't misunderstand. When I say "buffer," I do mean a completed book. My books run from 24-32 pages and I'm not confident to post anything until they're all finished.

I can't imagine not working with a buffer. I'm getting better with time management but there are just so many pages that take twice as long as I think they should. More importantly though, I need to tinker with it before I release. I usually sit on finished books for two weeks before letting the w…
